Job Title: Manufacturing Engineer

Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated Manufacturing Engineer who will serve as the focal point for all technical aspects of assigned projects. The role involves ensuring compliance with customer and product specifications, validating manufacturing processes, and driving product manufacturability.

Responsibilities

Ensure compliance with customer and product procurement specifications.

Validate and improve manufacturing processes to meet all requirements.

Drive product manufacturability and lead new product introductions.

Review and approve planning documents; conduct Advanced Quality Planning (AQP).

Define and manage tooling requirements; coordinate tooling design.

Develop and maintain Visual Work Instructions (VWI) and Work Combination Sheets (WCS).

Apply operation time standards and ensure manufacturability of all assemblies.

Provide technical guidance between manufacturing, engineering, and suppliers.

Collaborate with suppliers to develop processes and resolve issues.

Meet cost targets, eliminate waste, and implement cost reduction strategies.

Lead Production Support Team; resolve manufacturing issues through Root Cause and Preventive Actions.

Document and validate processes for machining, forming, stamping, heat treating, and chemical processing of metals (e.g., titanium, Inconel, aluminum, stainless steel).

Ensure proper documentation and implementation of engineering changes.

Review and recommend improvements for production drawings; support quoting process.

Adhere to delivery schedules and company policies.

Coach and support fellow Manufacturing Engineers on process improvement projects and initiatives.

Essential Skills

Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or another Engineering discipline with 7+ years of engineering experience, preferably in an Aerospace environment.

Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering or another Engineering discipline with 6+ years of engineering experience in an Aerospace environment.

Knowledge of sheet metal and aerospace materials.

Understanding of sheet metal related processes such as welding, forming, NDT, and geometric tolerance.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

Experience in manufacturing engineering, process improvement, aerospace, manufacturing process, continuous improvement, and project management.

Work Environment

This position is onsite, working a straight 40-hour week from Monday to Friday. The schedule is flexible, allowing start times between 6 am and 8 am, with a typical day running from 7 am to 4 pm. The role involves working in the main building with a team of 15 Manufacturing Engineers, including 3 in planning. The company is growing, offering opportunities to engage with legacy projects as well as new programs, fostering a cohesive team environment.

This is a Permanent position based out of Burbank, CA.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $110000.00 - $110000.00/yr.
