Overview
The Manager of Supply Chain Delivery and Planning leads a team responsible for sourcing, material planning, and delivery operations to support PPL's business objectives. This role ensures the efficient acquisition and supply of materials and services for engineering, construction, and operational needs, while driving process improvements, cost optimization, and customer satisfaction. The Manager leads strategic initiatives, oversees daily sourcing and planning activities, and fosters a culture of continuous improvement, innovation, and collaboration across business areas and supply chain functions. This leadership role provides support to designated business lines across the PPL enterprise for collaborative benefit attainment. This position provides guidance and direction to Supervisors and a professional staff to facilitate cost-effective service, optimized delivery of shared services, effective supplier engagement and contract coordination, achievement of customer service and safety commitments, and transmission and distribution system reliability for internal stakeholders.
Responsibilities
Supervise and manage a team of supervisors and professional staff responsible for sourcing, material planning, and delivery operations. Ensure even workload distribution and provide backup support during absences.
Oversee the acquisition of materials and services for capital projects, maintenance, and operational initiatives, ensuring compliance with supply chain strategies and business requirements.
Direct the review, approval, and optimization of material requests, inventory levels, and supply chain flows to meet work management schedules and field force needs.
Develop and implement long-term strategies with respect to the supply of materials and services to enhance service delivery and meet the evolving needs of our customers.
Collaborate with internal business teams, supply chain managers, and logistics services to plan and implement strategic initiatives, allocate resources, and drive operational excellence.
Promote supplier diversity, sustainability, and corporate responsibility in sourcing and delivery activities.
Manage employee performance, and enable growth and development through regular coaching and feedback, and foster a supportive work environment conducive to career growth and professional development.
Develop and implement long-term strategies with respect to the supply of materials and services to enhance service delivery and meet the evolving needs of our customers. Leverage analytical tools, and develop data-driven recommendations for process, procedure, and tool enhancements.
Continuously improve operational processes to maximize efficiency and effectiveness in service delivery. This includes defining, managing, and monitoring Min/Max levels throughout the Supply Chain organization.
Ensure compliance with company policies, safety standards, and regulatory requirements.
Own the inventory master and oversee replenishment models.
May be assigned an emergency and storm restoration role, requiring after-hours work during critical events.
All other duties and projects as assigned.
Qualifications
Required Education:
Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Engineering, Business Administration, IT, or related technical field.
Required Experience:
5+ years of sourcing experience, including experience with negotiation of commercial Terms and Conditions.
Preferred Qualifications:
Previous supervisory experience.
Two or more years of electric or gas utility operations sourcing experience.
Lean and/or Six Sigma certification or equivalent program.
Business, Engineering or Supply Chain Management degree.
Experience in utility operations.
Master of Business Administration degree.
