Pay DOE: $38,000-$51,000

Schedule: Monday-Friday | Full-Time

Are you a detail-oriented accounting professional looking to grow your skills in a supportive, team-oriented office environment? A local manufacturing facility in Sibley, IA is seeking an Accounting Associate - AP to support the Site Accounting Department with accounts payable processing, vendor coordination, and month-end tasks. This role helps maintain accurate financial records, ensure timely payments, and support smooth day-to-day operations.

What you'll do:

Process supplier invoices: review, verify approvals, match to receiving reports, code accurately, and enter into the system

Coordinate setup of new suppliers with the Home Office

Review unvouchered receipts reports for accuracy

Ensure invoices are processed on time to maximize discounts

Run weekly Aging Reports and review outstanding invoices at month-end

Respond to supplier inquiries and resolve discrepancies

Maintain organized and complete AP files

Run Aged AP reports and prepare related month-end journal entries

Run Period Receipt Reports and reconcile to the General Ledger

Confirm interbranch balances

Comply with HACCP, GMP, Work Instructions, and SQF requirements

Other duties as assigned

What we're looking for:

Post-secondary accounting coursework with 1-3 years accounting experience (manufacturing preferred); OR HS diploma with 3-5 years experience

Proficiency in MS Office (Excel, Word, Outlook)

Strong attention to detail and high accuracy levels

Excellent organizational and deadline management skills

Ability to work independently and communicate professionally with internal departments

Regular use of computers, phones, and office equipment

Ability to work effectively with Purchasing, Production, and HO Accounting/Finance teams

Commitment to confidentiality and accurate record keeping
