OVERVIEW: The Manufacturing Engineer will work with a cross functional team to successfully launch products that meet our customer requirements. A successful Manufacturing Engineer at Pratt Miller must have the ability to use excellent problem-solving skills to come up with creative solutions in order to satisfy our wide range of customers. This individual must have extensive knowledge of Lean Manufacturing techniques and have the ability to apply them to a low rate production environment.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND SKILLS: Typical responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:
New Product Production Planning - Lead the development of process flow, PFMEA, error/mistake proofing, equipment planning, capacity analysis, plant layout, total productive maintenance (TPM), and operator work instructions.
Design assembly fixtures that utilize advanced manufacturing technologies such as PLC, DC torque tools, etc.
Evaluate and select required production equipment. - Assist in the development of quality planning including control plans and gage designs.
Assist in material planning including material flow/handling plans as well as inventory level and safety stock plans. - Work with Design Engineers to identify design for assembly opportunities.
Production Support
Work with cross functional team to solve customer issues related to quality and delivery.
Use continuous improvement techniques to improve safety, quality, delivery, and cost.
Track production metrics and use metrics to drive change to products and processes.
Company Initiative Support
Develop common manufacturing requirements documents and best practices.
Assist to define roadmap for manufacturing capability growth.
Research and evaluate new advanced manufacturing technologies.
ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS: In addition to the responsibilities mentioned above, the ideal candidate must possess but not limited to all the following:

Excellent skills using Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Visio, and Outlook).
EDUCATION/CERTIFICATION/YEARS OF EXPERIENCE:
BS or MS in Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or other engineering degree with manufacturing experience.
1+ years' experience in Manufacturing Engineering.
DESIRED SPECIALIZED SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE: - Vehicle and system troubleshooting experience.
Knowledge of automotive or defense industries.
Experience with an OEM or Tier 1 Automotive Supplier is a plus.
Knowledge of a wide variety of processes such as assembly, fabrication, and machining.
Experience with implementing programmable logic control systems.
Contribution to evaluating and quoting new production opportunities.
Experience using 3D CAD programs such as Solidworks or Creo.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS: - Ability to lift 40 lbs.
EXPECTED HOURS OF WORK
Some travel may be required to customer and supplier locations.
Must be flexible with schedule to accommodate fixed deadlines sometimes working Saturday and or Sunday.
Pay Range:
$64,500.00 - $103,500.00
The above pay range reflects the minimum and maximum target pay for the position across all U.S. locations. Within this range, individual pay is determined by various factors, including the scope and responsibilities of the role, the candidate's experience, education and skills, as well as the equity of pay among team members in similar positions.
