Description

We are looking for a skilled Senior Accountant to join our team on a contract basis in Plainview, New York. This position requires someone with strong attention to detail, expertise in financial reporting, and reconciliation processes. The ideal candidate will play a key role in maintaining accurate records and ensuring the smooth operation of month-end close activities.

Responsibilities:

Manage month-end close procedures, ensuring timely and accurate completion.

Oversee the preparation and review of general ledger entries.

Perform detailed account reconciliations to maintain financial accuracy.

Conduct bank reconciliations and resolve discrepancies efficiently.

Assist in producing financial reports and statements for management review.

Ensure compliance with company policies and accounting standards.

Collaborate with other departments to streamline financial processes.

Provide insights and recommendations to improve accounting procedures.

Support audits by preparing necessary documentation and explanations.

Maintain organized and up-to-date financial records.

Requirements - Proven experience in month-end close processes and general ledger management.

Strong knowledge of journal entries and account reconciliation.

Proficiency in performing bank reconciliations with attention to detail.

Familiarity with accounting principles and standards.

Ability to analyze financial data and identify discrepancies.

Excellent organizational and time-management skills.

Strong communication skills for cross-departmental collaboration.

Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred.
