Steiner Industries, a Bunzl North America Company, was founded in 1975 and is one of the leading manufacturers and suppliers of welding and industrial protective products in the United States is seeking a Regional Sales Manager. Steiner supplies its safety products to over 1,000 distributors across the Welding and Industrial Distribution Channels.
The Regional Sales Manager is a critical component to the success of the North American Sales Team and will report to the Director of Sales. You will be responsible for driving revenue growth and market expansion across an assigned territory by leading, coaching, and supporting a sales team. The Regional Sales Manager will develop and execute regional sales strategies, manage key customer and distributor relationships, forecast performance, and collaborate cross-functionally to achieve sales targets while maintaining high levels of customer satisfaction.
The ideal candidate will be located within the Chicago Area and will be responsible for the sales territory for the Central and Eastern portions of the US.

Responsibilities:
Continue development of key customers and target accounts with ongoing sales growth to ensure meeting or exceeding established expectations.
Maintain leadership, training, and development of the Steiner sales effort, including management of independent sales representatives and direct account responsibilities.
Develop programs that further facilitate deeper product placement within the customer base.
Management of the company's CRM software, capturing all sales activities in the territory for the independent sales representatives, customers and prospective customers.
Assist the Director of Sales with developing the sales budget as required.
Communicate and coordinate with internal staff (Purchasing, Customer Service, Warehousing, Accounting, and Sales staff) to maximize customer satisfaction.
Drive a strong customer service mentality and continue building current customer relationships.
Some direct account responsibility may be needed to build new territories for future expansion.
Responsible for meeting or exceeding sales and profit margin goals.
REQUIREMENTS:
Bachelor's degree in professional Selling, Marketing, Business Administration or related field required.
Minimum of 10 years' sales experience with a proven track record selling in competitive markets, previous supervisory experience required.
Minimum of 5 years' experience in sales within the Welding Industry. Experience selling in the Industrial Distribution Channel is strongly preferred.
Demonstrated ability to understand the market in which you are selling and the deployment of resources that ensure maximum coverage and product exposure.
Proficient with Microsoft Office products, including Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Teams and Adobe Acrobat. Experience with Microsoft Dynamics and Sage ERP a plus.
Must possess executive-level communication skills; including the ability to sell the concept of improving operating efficiencies while demonstrating value added benefits to executive management.
Success contacting and making presentations to key people within customer organizations from purchasing managers, general managers, presidents and owners.
Must possess strong planning, organizational and time management skills, as well as strong analytical problem-solving skills.
Must be a self-starter with strong leadership skills and a creative initiator with the ability to motivate.
Must be team orientated with excellent customer service and selling skills.
Must be able to travel, with overnight stays an average of 2 to 3 nights per week.
Candidate needs to reside in Central or Eastern portion of the USA, close to a major airport. Preferably residing in the Northern or Chicago, IL area.
Salary range: $100,000 - $110,000 plus commission eligibility based on experience, education and geographic location.
