Job Title: Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS) Specialist ENTRY LEVEL

Job Description

The Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS) Specialist plays a pivotal role in promoting EHS stewardship by inspecting and providing guidance and support to designated sites. This position ensures compliance with Federal, State, and local regulations, and fosters a culture of EHS ownership and accountability to safeguard workers and protect the environment. The EHS Specialist assists in developing and implementing programs, policies, procedures, and training materials, and provides training to managers and associates as needed.

Responsibilities

Inspect and provide EHS guidance and support to designated sites.

Ensure compliance with Federal, State, and local EHS regulations.

Promote a culture of EHS ownership and accountability.

Develop and implement EHS programs, policies, procedures, and training materials.

Provide or coordinate EHS-related training to managers and associates.

Assist site(s) in advancing through the Heraeus Development Path 2.0 levels.

Collaborate with the EHS Manager to implement safety and health initiatives and documentation.

Establish close working relationships and communicate with managers, supervisors, and associates to achieve EHS objectives.

Prepare written reports on inspections, accident investigations, and statistical information on injuries and illnesses.

Assist in Worker's Compensation Claims Management for U.S. sites.

Analyze EHS data for insights to support performance improvement.

Develop and implement processes to enhance EHS program effectiveness.

Review current literature and regulations to stay updated on OSHA and EHS standards.

Demonstrate safe work habits and maintain a clean and safe work area.

Work with a positive attitude and adhere to the HMC Core Values and Code of Conduct.

Essential Skills

Bachelor's degree in Environmental Health & Safety or related field is a plus but not needed.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs, including Outlook and Excel.

Familiarity with health and safety regulations and practices.

Good people skills.

Ability to work independently and with minimum supervision.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $21.50 - $21.50/hr.
