Description

We are looking for a skilled Accountant to join our team on a contract basis in Urbandale, Iowa. In this role, you will play an essential part in refining and documenting accounting procedures to enhance operational efficiency. If you have a strong background in accounting practices and a keen eye for process optimization, we encourage you to apply. Responsibilities:

Analyze current accounting workflows to identify inconsistencies and areas for improvement.

Develop and document standardized procedures for accounts payable, accounts receivable, and other financial operations.

Collaborate with team members to streamline processes for faster and more accurate reporting.

Prepare and post journal entries to ensure accurate financial records.

Reconcile bank statements and resolve discrepancies in a timely manner.

Assist in maintaining the general ledger by ensuring all transactions are recorded properly.

Create and update departmental standard operating procedures (SOPs) to promote consistency.

Provide recommendations for process enhancements to improve efficiency and accuracy.

Ensure compliance with accounting standards and company policies.

Requirements - Minimum of 2 years of relevant experience in accounting or a related field.

Proficiency in key accounting functions such as accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger management.

Strong skills in preparing journal entries and reconciling bank statements.

Experience in documenting and standardizing processes and procedures.

Excellent attention to detail and ability to identify process inefficiencies.

Knowledge of accounting principles and regulations.

Strong organizational and time management skills.

Effective communication skills to collaborate with team members and stakeholders.
