Onsite - roles where employees are expected to be onsite daily.

Job Summary
This position will provide PSEG Long Island Electric Operations' safety program leadership and implementation by establishing and maintaining industrial health and safety performance and programs for PSEGLI Electric Division. Establishes safety & health programs under the direction of the Safety Manager, Electric Transmission and Distribution and provides technical oversight, and guidance to ensure compliance with federal and state regulations pertaining to employee and contractor safety and health. Oversee the line of business personnel with regards to job productivity, efficient operations & safety, provide technical oversight and expertise to field personnel. Coach and counsel employees who are found to be out of compliance with PSEG LI standards, work methods, and regulatory requirements. Employees in this position will be required to work overtime and non-standard shifts as needed to support company operations.
Job Responsibilities
Responsible for division overall safety and health management.
Implements safety & health programs under direction of the H&S Program Manager.
Provide technical oversight and expertise to field division operations in interpretation and understanding of new programs.
Implement new methodologies and procedures to improve safety, productivity, and operations of the Line of Business.
Participation in accident investigations and determine root cause and assist with the development of SMART corrective actions.
Perform field audits, inspections and assessments of safety programs and processes to initiate corrective actions.
Provide timely and effective messages to maintain high awareness levels, reducing hazards and the potential for on-the-job injuries and motor vehicle collisions.
Perform health and safety training that meets OSHA and company requirements. Ensure employees are in compliance for annual training needs.
Responsible and accountable for improvement in the annual divisional year over year Health and Safety scorecard measures.
Required to attend and complete professional development safety training including obtaining CUSP Certification.
Oversight of LOB field operations to ensure safety and health policy compliance, provide subject matter expertise, guidance and counsel to management and bargaining unit employees, and Health and Safety Councils.
Coach and counsel employees out of compliance with PSEG LI standards, work methods, and regulatory requirements.
Work with management and represented personnel to identify job hazards and develop effective mitigation strategies.
Identify opportunities for improvement in safety related policies and procedures.
Analyze and review existing and new tools, materials and work practices to establish new methodologies to improve business and safety operations.
Implement new methodologies, policies, and procedures to improve operational safety and productivity within the line of business.
Job Specific Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Occupational Safety & Health, Engineering or related field with a minimum 5 years of work experience with direct safety-related responsibilities within the utility, construction or similar industry.
Applicants without a degree must have 9 years of work experience within the utility, construction or similar industry.
Strong leadership, adaptability, decision making, problem solving, teamwork, communications, client/customer satisfaction focus skills
Knowledge of OSHA regulations and relevant consensus standards i.e. ANSI, ASTM, NFPA, etc.
Excellent verbal and written communication and persuasive interpersonal skills.
Knowledgeable and proficient in computer applications including Microsoft Office and ability to learn internal Enterprise systems.
Must possess a valid U.S. driver's license and maintain a satisfactory driving record.
Must be able to work varying shifts to support location and field operations including but not limited to emergencies, storms, and on-call assignments.
Department of Energy's regulation 10 CFR 810 is required.
