Position Overview
As a key member of the leadership team, the VP of Finance & Accounting is responsible for finance, accounting, and risk management for FUJIFILM Cellular Dynamics Inc. (FCDI). This is a "hands-on" role that requires both strategic and tactical skills, providing direct support to the executive team and facilitating annual and long-term strategic planning exercises. Reporting to the Chief Operating Officer, the VP of Finance & Accounting will lead the Company's finance function across the full spectrum of accounting, financial and reporting, treasury, taxation, internal controls and financial planning and analysis. Our Company operates in a competitive, high-growth industry with increasing complexity. This role is a key leader in the business and will help to build a top-notch finance and accounting team to fit with the strategic plan of the Company. Emphasis will be placed on prioritization of investments required to achieve top-line revenue growth and profitability expansion.
The preference is for this role to be onsite, but a hybrid work arrangement can be considered with a minimum onsite presence of two work days per month.

Job Description
Essential Job Functions
Develop multi-year financial models, in support of strategic planning and business development activities
Establish and coordinate budgeting, forecasting and analysis processes as well as ensure timely preparation of same
Assist in the preparation of Executive board, and FUJIFILM parent presentations
Manage compliance with internal controls, policies and procedures
Lead the treasury function for the business
Manage the coordination of all tax planning and compliance needs of the business
Ensure timely monthly close and consolidation process, in accordance with established timelines and FUJIFILM corporate guidelines
Continual assessment and expansion/improvement of financial systems and processes
Ensure timely and accurate internal financial reporting and analysis, including actionable financial information to cost centers and other managers
Manage the coordination of the external audit and review process with external auditors; ensure review goes smoothly and without incident, confer with external auditors' management on any current or upcoming issues
Review and update accounting policies / procedures as necessary
Ensure adherence to existing policies / procedures; educate management as necessary and appropriate with respect to policies / procedures; evaluate for exceptions as appropriate
Consult with appropriate resources, both internal and external, to ensure that new accounting issues, transactions, agreements, etc. are analyzed and understood from an accounting standpoint
Ensure consistency of policies / procedures across FCDI (with deviations as appropriate)
Ensure timely Finance review of contracts and agreements; work collaboratively with Legal and contract requesters to ensure the interests of the business (financial and otherwise) are protected
Demonstrate and promote FUJIFILM's core values and desired culture
Develop and manage the Accounting and Finance individuals and teams to full potential
Ensure efficient use of existing systems to deliver accurate financial reporting
Qualifications
Master's degree in accounting, finance, or related business area; or combination of Bachelor's degree and work history
Minimum 15 years of progressive financial / accounting management responsibilities with at least 10 years of management / leadership experience
Experience working for a public company preferred
CDMO / Life Sciences company experience strongly preferred
Experience with reporting to financial regulatory agencies
Strong working knowledge of GAAP and IFRS
Experience with SAP preferred
Exceptional verbal and written communication skills; strategic thinking required
Outstanding personnel management and development skills; ability to be a hands-on leader
Ability to understand both business needs of the customer and FCDI
Ability to develop business cases, plans, forecasts, budgets, complex financial models, strategic insights
Broad leadership skills and a proven ability to focus on execution and results
Demonstrated ability to direct multiple large complex projects simultaneously
Strong leadership skills within cross functional teams; a demonstrated leader through influence
Prefer on-site presence in Madison, WI, will consider hybrid with at least 2 work days per month on-site
Travel 10% (higher if hybrid), to include occasional international travel
