Position Description & Qualifications
Serco is seeking a seeking a dynamic and experienced candidate to serve as a Data Analyst supporting the Naval Sea Systems Command (NAVSEA) Industrial Operations Directorate (SEA 04) in Washington DC .
This position is contingent upon your ability to maintain/transfer a DoD Secret security clearance
In this role, you will:
Compiling, maintaining, verifying and interpreting data in accordance with plans developed by others.
Perform trend analyses of data in order to identify any potential technical and management problems.
Assists with drafting reports of findings along with related documentation for higher level review.
Has knowledge of commonly-used concepts, practices, and procedures within the data analytics field.
Performs a variety of tasks. Works under general supervision.
Manipulate data to fix or remove incorrect, corrupt, incorrectly formatted, duplicate, or incomplete data within a dataset.
Gather and analyze technical information from various sources and create EXCEL/ SQL queries to retrieve specific information and parameters from database(s).
Apply data mining techniques to large data sets to identify patterns, relationships and behaviors.
Analyze, interpret and draw conclusions from data, and identify problems, solutions and opportunities using the analysis.
Create and deliver graphical representations to best display information and convey concepts, to include but not limited to compelling interactive briefings, reports, and dashboards via Microsoft Teams (Flank Speed) or a NNPI approved, compatible platform.
Interpret and analyze data, behaviors and processes, trends and situations and recommended solutions. Understands and articulates root causes. Ensures analytics are usable, actionable, and valuable for today and predictive of the future.
Define Key Performance Indices (KPIs) and metrics for measuring success.
To be successful in this role, you will have:
Must be a US Citizen
An active or current DoD Secret Clearance or Interim Secret Clearance
Bachelor's degree in Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Information Systems, Management, or a specialized degree in Business Analytics or Data Analytics with 2 or more year's experience
The ideal candidate has Department of Defense and/or Department of the Navy experience, and familiarity with common data analyst tools and systems such as Tableau, Power BI, Python and R
Proven ability to work under minimal direction and independently determine and develop approach to solutions
Ability to work onsite at the Washington Navy Yard 3 days a week
Ability to travel up to 10%
