What You'll Do:
Position Summary
The Maintenance Manager is responsible for leading all maintenance operations at the plant to ensure equipment reliability, safety, and operational efficiency. This role drives preventive and predictive maintenance strategies, develops a high-performing maintenance team, and partners closely with Operations and Continuous Improvement leaders to support production goals and world-class manufacturing standards.
Key Responsibilities
Safety & Compliance
· Foster a strong safety culture by enforcing all company safety policies and OSHA regulations, with the goal of eliminating work-related injuries.
· Ensure maintenance work is performed safely and in compliance with all regulatory and company standards.
· Coordinate with the Operations Manager and Kaizen Promotion Officer (KPO) to report, investigate, and address work-related accidents, equipment incidents, or suspected sabotage involving machinery, tools, or systems.
How You'll Do It:
Maintenance Operations & Leadership
· Organize, lead, and supervise all daily maintenance activities for the assigned plant, including production equipment, tools, facilities, fire protection systems, security systems, and grounds.
· Plan and control maintenance labor and expense budgets while maintaining high reliability and uptime.
· Oversee the installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, adjustment, and repair of plant equipment and tools.
· Inspect completed work to ensure compliance with specifications, safety standards, and quality expectations.
· Establish, revise, and standardize maintenance work procedures to support production schedules and operational priorities.
Preventive & Predictive Maintenance
· Design, implement, and continuously improve preventive and predictive maintenance programs for all mechanical, electrical, and automated equipment.
· Ensure timely completion of all preventive maintenance activities and proper documentation within the CMMS.
· Manage and optimize the MaintainX system for work orders, PM scheduling, asset tracking, and reporting.
Performance Management & Continuous Improvement
· Measure, monitor, and improve Maintenance KPIs, including (but not limited to):
o Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE)
o PM completion percentage
o Work order completion rate
o Equipment downtime and reliability metrics
· Develop and implement TPM/TPMO plans to improve equipment performance and reduce unplanned downtime.
· Identify opportunities for process improvements, standardization, and cost reduction; recommend and implement new programs and technologies as needed.
Training & Team Development
· Provide initial and ongoing maintenance training for maintenance technicians, production associates, and other plant personnel as appropriate.
· Evaluate maintenance skills and performance, identifying development needs to build technical expertise and bench strength.
· Foster collaboration and strong communication across maintenance, production, and support teams to drive a high-performance culture.
Additional Site Responsibilities
· Open the plant as required, ensuring facilities, lighting, and equipment are operational at the start of shift.
· Supervise the Foundation Cell (until further notice).
· Manage the Crown forklift fleet, including inspections, battery maintenance, vendor coordination, and compliance tracking.
· Review, request, and manage tools, equipment, and supplies required to support maintenance operations.
· Perform other duties as assigned to support plant objectives.
What You'll Bring:
Qualifications & Experience
Required
· 5-7 years of experience in manufacturing maintenance, including leadership of highly technical mechanics or technicians.
· Demonstrated ability to manage safety and risk programs in a manufacturing environment.
· Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to evaluate information, adjust priorities, and generate effective solutions.
· Proven track record of managing goals, KPIs, and high-quality work in a fast-paced, safety-focused environment.
· Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate across functions while living the SSB Mission and Core Values.
Preferred
· Lean Manufacturing and/or Six Sigma experience (Green Belt preferred).
· Electrical certification or strong electrical systems knowledge.
· Experience driving continuous improvement initiatives related to uptime, reliability, and cost control.
