Job Description:
Metro State University, Minnesota's public, urban university, and four-time recipient of the Insight Into Diversity Higher Education Excellence in Diversity (HEED) Award is seeking to hire a Customer Services & Administrative Specialist. This is a full-time probationary position within the Shared Services Unit in the College of Individualized Studies.
This position provides front-line customer service and administrative support for the Dean's Office to support multiple departments with shared services. The CSS-I ensures timely, accurate, and professional communication and service to students, faculty, staff, and external stakeholders, contributing to the smooth operation and positive reputation of the supported units, as well as customer service to external associates partnering with CIS in the expansion of its degree and cocurricular programs.
Salary Range:
$20.76-$29.22 / hour depending upon experience and qualifications.
Minimum Qualifications:
Communicate effectively with internal and external customers
Write, prepare, and edit materials, using correct spelling, punctuation, grammar, and sentence construction.
Use inclusive language to effectively respond to clients, coworkers, and customers who have questions about agency operations and procedures (in person, in writing, on the phone, and through presentations and other electronic correspondence).
Answer questions and advise customers of program policies, procedures, and regulations using business grammar, spelling and punction to write, develop and edit reports, letters, procedures, presentations, and other documents.
Answer questions politely via phone, email, and other written or electronic correspondence.
Explain laws, rules, regulations, standards, policies, and procedures to clients, coworkers, and customers.
Manage and address customers', clients, and co-workers' concerns tactfully and thoroughly.
Preferred Qualification:
Proficiency using Microsoft 365, emphasizing TEAMS, SharePoint, and Outlook.
Experience and skill using Workday or similar.
Diversity and Inclusion Training or Certificate.
Work experience within a Higher Education institution.
Record of professional success in institutional partnerships or community engagement.
Physical Requirements:
Light: Requires occasionally transporting such articles as file boxes and heavy hand tools or heavier materials with help from others and/or transporting light objects frequently. The position may require movement throughout building(s) to a significant degree.
Work Shift (Hours / Days of work):
Monday - Friday, 8:00am-4:30pm; Hybrid, 30 hours per week on site, 10 hours per week remote.
