DESCRIPTION OF WORK As a Corrections Activities Manager 2, you will be responsible for overseeing a comprehensive activities program at SCI Frackville. Your responsibilities will involve planning, organizing, supervising, and evaluating a range of activities, including varsity and intramural sports, as well as recreational activities. Your goal will be to provide opportunities for recreation, physical development, and athletic competition for as many inmates as possible. Your duties will also include supervising inmates and coaches, in addition to managing all aspects of organized athletic competitions, such as recruitment, physical exams, practice schedules, and equipment. Furthermore, you will be in charge of maintaining and safely storing athletic and recreational equipment.

Work Schedule and Additional Information: Full-time employment, 37.5 hours per week Work hours are 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch. This position is eligible for full retirement benefits at age 50 or 55. Telework: You will not have the option to telework in this position. Salary:Selected candidates who are new to employment with the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania will begin employment at the starting annual salary of $67,736.00 (before taxes). QUALIFICATIONS Minimum Experience and Training Requirements: Two (2) years of experience as a Corrections Activities Specialist (Commonwealth job title or equivalent Federal Government job title, as determined by the Office of Administration); or One year as a Corrections Activities Manager 1 (Commonwealth job title or equivalent Federal Government job title, as determined by the Office of Administration); or Three (3) years of experience in developing and conducting a variety of recreational activities, including one (1) year in Corrections and one year of supervisory or lead work experience, and a bachelor's degree, with major course work in recreation and physical education; or Any equivalent combination of experience and training.

Other Requirements: Successful completion of basic training in Elizabethtown, PA is required. You must meet the PA residency requirement. For more information on ways to meet PA residency requirements, follow the link and click on Residency. You must be able to perform essential job functions.
