Job Description
The Associate Director, CAR-T Payer & Value Marketing reports to the Director of CAR-T Payer & Value Marketing and is a critical commercial role responsible for shaping and executing strategies that influence payer decision-making and create increased access to CAR-T in the US. This role will lead the development of impactful tactics, collaborate cross-functionally to generate compelling evidence and messages, and manage external partners to deliver high-quality, compliant materials - all while overseeing project timelines and budgets. This role will have responsibility for in-line and pipeline products including a near-term CAR-T launch. This position can be based in either our Santa Monica, CA or Foster City, CA office.
Key Responsibilities
Payer-facing Initiatives, Tools, and Resources
Lead development, execution, and training of all payer-facing tools and resources, including:
Payer value story and value proposition
Budget impact models
Cost calculators
Other tools to support payer engagement and improved access
Ensure all resources are tailored to payer needs and support the expansion of CAR-T Centers of Excellence networks
· Provide training and support for field teams on payer messaging and resources.
Evidence Generation & Value Communication
· Partner with Health Economics & Outcomes Research (HEOR) and Market Access teams to create cost-effectiveness evidence aligned with payer needs.
· Translate clinical and economic data into clear, compelling value propositions for payer audiences.
Agency & Vendor Management
· Oversee the agency of record to ensure timely delivery of high-quality, on-brand, and compliant material
· Lead the PRC process for payer marketing materials, ensuring compliance with regulatory and legal standards.
· Manage annual payer marketing budgets and SOWs
Cross-Functional Collaboration
· Work closely with Market Access, Brand Marketing, Medical Affairs, GACO and Account Teams to align payer strategies with overall business objectives
· Collaborate with alliance partners as relevant
· Provide training and support for field teams on payer messaging and resources.
Basic Qualifications
Advanced scientific degree (i.e., MD, PharmD, PhD) and 5+ years of experience OR
Master's Degree and 8+ years of experience OR
Bachelor's Degree and 10+ years of experience OR
Preferred Qualifications
Ensure all resources are tailored to payer needs and support the expansion of CAR-T Centers of Excellence networks
· Deep understanding of the reimbursement landscape for CAR-T and the unique aspects of single case agreements, network requirements, etc.
· Extensive understanding of the hematology/oncology clinical landscape and cell therapy business
Expertise in market access, pricing, and financial aspects of the U.S. healthcare system (buy and bill, hospital economics, reimbursement, payer/provider economics, pricing policy)
Experience developing value platforms and contributing to HEOR evidence generation plans
Engagement experience with payers, providers, channels, and health policy stakeholders
Advanced PowerPoint and Excel skills
Excellent verbal and written communication and project management skills
The salary range for this position is: $177,905.00 - $230,230.00. Kite considers a variety of factors when determining base compensation, including experience, qualifications, and geographic location. These considerations mean actual compensation will vary. This position may also be eligible for a discretionary annual bonus, discretionary stock-based long-term incentives (eligibility may vary based on role), paid time off, and a benefits package.
