TRAINING SR MANAGER
The Protective Technology Branch (PTB) coordinates and implements protection requirements for multiple high threat posts and provides technical security countermeasures and systems that counter the risk to personnel and facilities worldwide. To align with the specific requirements of the Diplomatic Security Protective Technology Branch (PTB), the responsibilities must bridge the gap between high-level instructional strategy and the practical, technical needs of field technicians .
MEANINGFUL WORK AND PERSONAL IMPACT
As the Senior Training Manager, you will be the architect of a specialized technical workforce. Your primary focus is to ensure that every technician is a multi-capable asset ready for global deployment.
Key Responsibilities & Performance Areas
As the Senior Training Manager, you will be the architect of a specialized technical workforce. Your primary focus is to ensure that every technician is a multi-capable asset ready for global deployment.
Multi-Disciplinary Cross-Training Development
Integrated Skillsets: Design and implement a robust "Cross-Training Matrix" that allows technicians to gain proficiency across diverse disciplines.
Module Scalability: Develop tiered learning paths (Level I, II, and III) that enable technicians to pivot between specialties based on mission-critical needs.
Blended Learning: Utilize a mix of classroom instruction, "sandbox" laboratory environments, and field-simulated exercises to ensure theoretical knowledge translates to hardware mastery.
Deployment Readiness & Compliance
Readiness Monitoring: Maintain accurate, real-time training records to ensure all personnel meet the specific "Ready-to-Deploy" (RTD) criteria for international assignments.
Currency Oversight: Implement an automated tracking and notification system to manage certification expirations, ensuring no lapse in technician eligibility for high-threat theater deployment.
Gap Analysis: Regularly identify personnel who are "stagnant" in their training and intervene with tailored development plans to maximize the billable, deployable headcount.
Curriculum Auditing & Technical Evolution
Strategic Audits: Conduct audits of all training materials to ensure they reflect current Protective Technology Branch (PTB) field procedures and Department of State Standards.
Technology Insertion: Collaborate with PTB engineers to integrate new hardware (e.g., advanced biometric scanners, AI-driven surveillance, or updated RF equipment) into the curriculum immediately as they are adopted by the program.
Feedback Loops: Incorporate post-deployment "After Action Reports" (AARs) from the field into the curriculum to address real-world technical challenges and "lessons learned."
Professional Delivery & Operations
Execution Excellence: Oversee the professional delivery of training, ensuring instructors maintain a high standard of classroom management and technical accuracy.
Resource Management: Manage the lifecycle of training equipment, toolkits, and "mock-up" security consoles used for hands-on instruction.
Global Reach: Ensure curriculum can be efficiently deployed both at the primary training facility and via mobile training teams (MTTs) for OCONUS (Outside Continental United States) delivery when required.
