THE POSITION

We are seeking a dedicated and hardworking individual for the Custodial Worker 1 position, where you will play an essential role in ensuring cleanliness and enhancing the overall appearance, ensuring that visitors have a pleasant and enjoyable experience.
DESCRIPTION OF WORK
In this position, you will perform essential manual tasks related to the custodial maintenance of the Presque Isle State Park complex, which includes Erie Bluffs State Park and the Tom Ridge Environmental Center. Your responsibilities will involve cleaning both public and employee areas within park facilities, encompassing a variety of activities such as washing, waxing, dusting, and polishing floors, walls, ceilings, stairwells, furniture, and fixtures. You will also sweep or vacuum floors and stairwells, shampoo carpets as needed, and ensure restrooms are thoroughly cleaned, including toilets, urinals, sinks, and fixtures, while restocking supplies like toilet paper and soap.
Proper disposal of waste, trash, and recyclables is crucial, along with washing windows and removing cobwebs and insect debris. Additionally, you will manage cleaning supplies by requesting them from the supervisor, assisting in their distribution, and monitoring their usage. Outdoor duties include shoveling snow, sweeping pathways, and regularly checking to maintain cleanliness around building entrances and the surrounding areas.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:
This is a seasonal, full-time position with no healthcare benefits. The season runs from approximately May 2026, through October 2026, at which time the employee will be placed on leave without pay. The employee will automatically be returned to employment May 2027.
This position performs duties that are routinely executed seven days a week and will be routinely scheduled to work weekends, evenings and holidays as needed for park operations and to meet seasonal needs.
