Summary The Painter Supervisor position serves as the Paint Shop Foreman for the Paint Shop within the Environmental Management Service at the New Jersey VAHCS, East Orange campus. Responsibilities The incumbent supervises, plan, and directs operations related to painting, plaster, drywall taping, power paint spraying, wall patching, signage operations, recycling, and wall covering activities of the Paint Shop of Environmental Management Service. Has a comprehensive knowledge of painting techniques which he/she applies in the performance of daily duties. Incumbent is familiar with various painting products used by Environmental Management Service to ensure proper use in completing projects. Incumbent receives special work assignments to oversee GRS contract procurements associated with Paint Shop activities as assigned by Chief GRS. Incumbent is responsible for ensuring that the project is delivered on time, to budget and to the required quality standard (within agreed specifications). He/she ensures the project is effectively resourced and manages relations with a wide range of groups (including all project contributors i.e. Contracting Office, Vendors, Project area effected staff/patients) to include management of project scope, deliverables in line with project plan, coordination with partners and working groups engaged in project work, recording and resolving cross-functional issues at project level, monitoring project progress and performance, providing project evaluation and dissemination activities and status reports to the Asst. Chief and/or Chief. Physical Requirements/Working Conditions: The incumbent has responsibilities at the Lyons campus, East Orange campus, and Community Based Out-Patient Clinics (CBOCs) . Duties are performed in the various Medical Center buildings which are comprised of non-housekeeping quarters, offices, locker rooms, laboratories, operating rooms, general and specialized medical areas, and psychiatric wards.
