Summary This is a detail assignment up to 120 days. Selection will remain at their own Grade and Step on their current pay scale. The Controlled Substance Coordinator (CSC) Consultant is responsible for coordinating and managing the HINES VA Controlled Substance Program with regulatory agencies, VHA, network, and facility requirements. They serve as subject matter expert for controlled substance management, and are responsible for development and implementation of Control Substance Management programs. Responsibilities Examples of CSC Consultant Duties include, but are not limited to: Provide advice and support to Executive Leadership and medical center staff. Direct the development and maintenance of programs designed to reduce risk at all levels within the healthcare delivery system. Provide professional management, educational assistance and policy development and implementation guidance in the area of controlled substance management. Participates in the development of innovative, evidence-based approaches to the establishment, modification, and/or improvement of care with a focus of control substances. Works closely with the Chief of QPS, Chief of Staff, Deputy Chief of Staff, Pharmacy Chief, and other Service Line Leaders in planning, designing, integrating, implementing, modifying, and administering the Controlled Substance Program. Demonstrate knowledge of current concepts and principles of the Health Care System's improvement methodology and framework, and external review standards. Develop strategies to disseminate "lessons learned" to appropriated staff throughout the organization. Responsible for providing clinical and administrative recommendations relative to programs, committees, and/or services that relate to Pharmacy; and is a member of the team involved in QPS, as an approach to assess and improve the quality of healthcare services. Nurse I, Level III Demonstrates proficiency in practice based on conscious and deliberate planning. Self-directed in goal setting for managing complex client situations. An ADN or Diploma in Nursing AND 2 years of professional nursing experience in which one year is equivalent to Nurse I, Level 2; OR a BSN and 1 year of professional nursing experience equivalent to the Nurse I, Level 2; OR a Master's degree in nursing (MSN) and no additional professional nursing experience; OR a Master's degree in a related field with a BSN and no additional professional nursing experience. Nurse II Demonstrates leadership in delivering and improving holistic care through collaborative strategies with others.
