Job Summary
The Corporate Communications Intern will support the development and execution of internal and external communications that strengthen Charles River's brand, culture, and reputation. This role is ideal for an undergraduate student passionate about storytelling, communications strategy, and content creation. The intern will assist with writing, research, digital content, and a variety of communications projects across the Corporate Communications team, gaining hands on experience in a fast paced, global organization.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Assist in drafting and editing a variety of internal and external communications, including articles, intranet posts, emails, newsletters, and social media content
Support research and content development for corporate storytelling, employee engagement initiatives, and brand-building campaigns
Collaborate with team members across Corporate Communications to ensure consistent messaging and brand alignment
Help track engagement metrics and support reporting on communications performance
Provide general project support and administrative assistance to the Corporate Communications team
Job Qualifications
Education: Current undergraduate student pursuing a degree in Communications, Public Relations, Marketing, Journalism, or a related field
Strong written communication skills, with the ability to draft clear, concise, and engaging content
Demonstrated interest in internal and external communications, corporate storytelling, or brand reputation
Ability to conduct research, synthesize information, and support content development
High attention to detail and strong organizational skills
Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment
Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, Outlook)
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Experience writing for digital channels (social media posts, blog content, newsletters, or student publications)
Familiarity with AP Style or other editorial guidelines
Basic understanding of media relations, stakeholder communication, or corporate communications best practices
Experience with communication tools (e.g., SharePoint, intranet platforms, Canva)
Interest in the biopharma or life sciences sector
WORKPLACE REQUIREMENTS:
Ability to work remotely, with sufficient equipment and space to productively conduct work
The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $22.00 per hour. Please note that salaries vary within the range based on factors including, but not limited to, experience, skills, education, certifications, and location.
