Job Summary:
The Event Sales Manager is a results-driven hospitality professional responsible for the sales, planning, and flawless execution of catered events across the resort's restaurants, banquet spaces, and unique venues. This role serves as the primary liaison between clients and resort operations, ensuring exceptional guest experiences while maximizing catering, food and beverage, room rental, and ancillary revenues.
Blending proactive sales outreach with detailed event management, the Event Sales Manager secures new business, manages contracted events from inquiry through post-event follow-up, and collaborates closely with Culinary, Banquets, Restaurants, Audio-Visual, and Hotel Operations teams. The ideal candidate is highly organized, client-focused, financially savvy, and passionate about creating memorable luxury experiences that align with the Regent brand standards.
A little bit about your day:
Reporting to the Director of Meetings and Events, every day is different, but you'll mostly:
Sales & Revenue Generation
Proactively solicit, negotiate, and secure catering and event business including social events, corporate meetings, private dining, and buyouts
Develop and execute strategies to grow catering revenue, optimize space utilization, and drive business during need periods
Respond to inquiries, prepare proposals, and ensure events align with financial, operational, and brand standards
Identify upselling opportunities for menus, beverage packages, enhancements, and resort amenities
Cultivate relationships with local businesses, community organizations, planners, and repeat clients
Event Planning & Execution
Serve as the primary point of contact for clients from contract execution through event completion
Plan and manage all aspects of catered events, including timelines, menus, room setups, and vendor coordination
Collaborate with Culinary, Banquet, Restaurant, and AV teams to ensure seamless execution and profitability
Conduct pre-event planning meetings, site visits, and pre-conference meetings
Create, distribute, and maintain accurate Banquet Event Orders (BEOs), event resumes, and function space bookings
Act as on-site event host or liaison as required to ensure client satisfaction
Financial & Administrative Management
Manage deposits, billing accuracy, and financial forecasts for assigned events
Ensure events meet or exceed contracted minimum food and beverage, room rental, and ancillary revenue commitments
Monitor event costs, labor, and resource utilization to support profitability
Maintain accurate records in sales and event management systems (Salesforce/Delphi)
Collaboration & Brand Representation
Partner with Sales, Revenue Management, Reservations, Front Office, and Guest Experience teams for group coordination
Stay current on food, beverage, and event trends to enhance offerings and remain competitive
Support sales calls, site tours, on-property showcases, and promotional events
Conduct post-event follow-ups to gather feedback, resolve issues, and drive repeat business
Requirements:
Proven experience in catering sales, event management, or hospitality operations, preferably within a luxury hotel or resort environment
Strong understanding of food and beverage operations, event logistics, and pricing strategies
Demonstrated success in managing multiple events simultaneously with strong attention to detail
Excellent communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills
Proficiency in event and sales systems such as Delphi, Social Tables, Microsoft Office
Ability to collaborate cross-functionally and adapt in a fast-paced environment
Flexible schedule required, including mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays
Work environment includes indoor and outdoor venues with varying noise levels
Bachelor's degree preferred

What you can expect from us:
The hourly pay range for this role is $38.00 to $43.00 . This range is only applicable for jobs to be performed at Regent Santa Monica Beach . This position is eligible for bonus pay.
