Job Title: Medical AssistantJob Description

Join a dynamic and growing medical group as a Medical Assistant, where you will float between front and back office duties, manage and order prescriptions, and coordinate lab orders on behalf of providers. You will process a high volume of prescriptions daily and work closely with patients, providers, pharmacies, and laboratories to ensure efficient patient care. This role requires professionalism and strong customer service skills in a traditional medical office setting. Flexibility in job duties is essential, as is the ability to communicate effectively with a geriatric patient community. You will also facilitate telehealth appointments using strong technology and video conferencing skills, and work with the EMR System E Clinical Works.

Responsibilities

Float between front and back office duties.

Manage and order prescriptions and labs for patients.

Process 300-400 prescriptions per day.

Collaborate with patients, providers, pharmacies, and laboratories.

Assist with rooming patients and working with physicians.

Maintain professionalism and strong customer service throughout the day.

Facilitate and guide patients for telehealth appointments.

Work on the EMR System E Clinical Works.

Essential Skills

1+ years of recent Medical Assistant experience.

Medical Assistant Certificate required.

BLS and/or CPR certification required.

Knowledge of medical terminology.

Medication or pharmacy knowledge.

Experience with EMR systems.

Strong computer skills.

Strong phone etiquette.

Effective communication with patients, providers, pharmacies, and labs.

Detail-oriented and able to fill prescription requests.

Ability to perform manual blood pressure and ear lavage.

Work Environment

Work in a high-volume medical clinic setting that supports pediatrics, urgent care, adult care, and radiology, with 17 doctors serving over 250 patients per day. The role occasionally requires support at the Huntington Beach site. The clinic is located within a mile of several popular restaurants, offering a family-oriented, tight-knit, and welcoming team environment. This is a Contract position based out of Fountain Valley, CA.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $22.00 - $23.00/hr.
