Senior Accountant

About the Role

We're seeking an experienced Senior Accountant to play a key role in supporting operational accounting, enhancing general ledger accuracy, and strengthening financial controls. This position is perfect for someone with strong technical accounting expertise, an analytical mindset, and a passion for improving processes. You'll partner with cross-functional teams, support audit activities, contribute to automation initiatives, and provide mentorship within the accounting organization.

What You'll Do

Apply technical accounting standards to new and existing products

Lead month-end close, including journal entries, reconciliations, and variance analysis

Prepare financial reports and deliver actionable insights to senior leadership

Support automation and process-improvement efforts using tools like BlackLine

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance (Master's preferred)

7+ years of experience in accounting, audit, or internal controls

Strong understanding of GAAP and internal control frameworks

Experience within financial institutions preferred; public accounting or audit background is a plus

Advanced Excel skills, with familiarity in reconciliation tools

Experience with Jira or Snowflake to support automation initiatives is a plus

Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment while managing multiple priorities

Preferred Skills

Expertise in general ledger account reconciliations

Prior experience in credit unions or banking environments

Strong communication abilities paired with solid problem-solving skills
