Role Description
The CCB Global and NAM GNB Head is a senior management-level position responsible for defining and implementing the strategy to be the lead international bank for our Global clients. The role is a client coverage leadership position charged with delivering outstanding client experience and dominant market share in the network business of our global clients. Results will be driven through senior client relationships as trusted advisor, effective management of the Global & NAM CCB GNB teams and development of strong partnerships with CCB, GNB and product partners while maintaining a high degree of focus on risk and controls.
A strong understanding of company cross border needs and global flows, corporate finance, risk and capital management skills, a strategic institutional mindset and client C-Suite impact are critical abilities for success in this role. The goal is to provide clients with solutions in capital markets, risk management, Treasury and Trade, FX and liquidity to grow their global businesses, ensuring that Citi provides best in class experience while complying with internal processes.
The role reports to the Head of Citi Commercial Banking, will include membership of the CCB Executive Committee and work closely with GNB Leadership. The role has direct management responsibility for the CCB NAM GNB team and will also be part of the CCB NAM leadership team.
New York is our preferred base for this role, but we welcome applications from qualified candidates in other US locations who meet the role requirements.
Key Responsibilities
Strategy / Execution:
Size global growth opportunity, identify key growth corridors and develop a strategy to be the lead bank in the inbound and outbound CCB GNB business. This includes direct accountability for driving NAM outbound
Align with key stakeholders in Banking, Risk and Product on market prioritization and resourcing
Directly manage NAM CCB GNB team
Execution of strategy in partnership with other clusters / country management in CCB and GNB
Be visible and acknowledged as an expert in the market, with clients and internally
Business Development & Sales Management:
Stay abreast of market trends and developments to drive innovation including development and commercialization of market leading real time solutions in partnership with industry heads, products / cluster and country teams
Drive market corridor and industry thought leadership externally and internally, industrialize capabilities and data analytics to drive market share growth
Coordinate webinars / client events / external marketing
Collaborate with Product, Risk, Country, Industry and other Banking partners to establish clear guidelines and process for appropriate coverage for GNB clients and prospects
Establish and lead robust sales management processes for pipeline management, new client acquisition, client penetration and share of wallet
Be responsible for geography Financials including returns (RoRC / RoTCE)
Talent:
Recruit, build out, and retain a best-in-class CCB GNB team
Manage, and motivate the team, ensuring an aligned organizational model, scorecards and KPIs to monitor business performance. Directly manage the NAM team
Foster global and NAM connectivity for best practice sharing
Qualifications
15+ years of commercial/corporate banking experience with demonstrated multinational banking expertise
Business builder capable of creating vision and motivating the team. A leader who embodies strong client intensity and drives an innovative winning culture and is abreast of digital and AI developments to empower clients and teams
Proven leadership skills and intellectual capability to create momentum and a collective agenda across multiple partner teams with a diverse population and competing priorities
Strong Risk & Credit skills, Business Senior Credit Officer preferred
Strong corporate finance skills, in-depth experience advising clients on debt and capital management, markets solutions and other strategic solutions
Highly focused, able to rapidly determine key priorities, clearly communicate those priorities and ensure resources are properly aligned
Demonstrated understanding of compliance issues and regulatory requirements of operating in a global environment
Proven analytical and problem-solving skills with pragmatic approach to ensure limited resources are directed appropriately
Consistently demonstrate clear and concise written and verbal communication
High level of personal integrity
Ability to work effectively in a matrix-environment
Results-driven person with sound financial acumen
Education
Bachelor's degree/University degree or equivalent experience
Master's/MBA degree preferred from a top economics, business, or financial engineering program
Licenses: S24, S79, S63 and SIE
