Title: 4092: Agency Senior Manager Supporting Technology/Ecosystem
The Agency Senior Manager leads and directs integrated global media relations efforts specifically to support Technology/Ecosystem alliance partnerships and Accenture LearnVantage by leveraging significant new AI offerings and capabilities, acquisitions, marketing campaigns, thought leadership, successful client engagements, and the expertise of Accenture's senior management in relevant areas across the business.
This senior manager must be able to interpret strategic direction and vision communicated by key leadership to identify media objectives and establish clear metrics for the fiscal year. They will be tasked to conceive and execute strategic communications campaigns designed to educate and condition the market for opportunities that help to drive Accenture's business, while working closely with integrated marketing teams and Corporate Communications colleagues.
The individual is responsible for: (a) managing and executing the earned media strategy for a subset of our Ecosystem alliance partnerships; (b) increasing the focus, quality and frequency of media coverage for LearnVantage and its subsidiary companies; (c) ensuring that media relations initiatives are consistent with strategic business objectives and guidelines; (d) developing and disseminating messages and executing media programs that leverage synergies across other Accenture business areas; and (e) improving Accenture's media visibility and profile within the target media that cover AI, ed tech, skilling, training, and more.
Key Responsibilities:
Develop and manage relationships with key reporters in key vertical media and relevant markets/geographies.
Coordinate with key marketing leads and relevant business executives to develop media strategies, content and appropriate tactics designed to generate maximum media impact in support of business objectives, major Accenture marketing campaigns, client engagements, joint partner initiatives and key partner events.
Write and edit news releases, working closely with relevant marketing leads, alliance leads and other senior executives, and industry and MU media colleagues, as appropriate.
Coordinate with external alliance partner M&C counterparts on joint media activities, including news releases and events.
Identify parties who need to be involved either directly or indirectly on media opportunities and activities (e.g., industry or MU leads, capability groups, etc.)
Manage agency and internal resources in support of media relations activities.
Assist with the management and reporting of top tier media results.
Coordinate with Corporate Communications on all engagements, situations or circumstances that could result in negative media coverage.
Serve as subject matter expert in media relations and communications for others inside Accenture.
Share content and information with media team peers to drive stories into the geographies and local marketplace, leverage use of core materials and ensure consistency of messages.
Tailor corporate messages, as appropriate, to the business areas.
Coach/train designated senior spokespersons and others representing the company externally on effective interactions with the media.
Basic Qualifications:
Minimum of 12-15 years' experience in media relations/corporate communications
Preferred Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree or other four-year university degree
Experience analyzing, disseminating and communication complex information and developing clear "media-ready" messages
Excellent written and oral communications skills. Superior writing capabilities are essential.
Proven ability to quickly and concisely draft a wide range of clear, concise and high-quality media materials including news releases, media Q&As, media pitch letters, bylined articles, op-eds, etc.
Detailed knowledge of media relations process in general and Accenture's media relations policies, including public disclosure requirements and restrictions.
Social media (blogs, Twitter, Facebook, LinkedIn, Google+) familiarity and skills required
Broad understanding and skills in strategic marketing and communications, especially in area of specialization or crossing more than one functional/technical area.
Ability to interact and work closely with media contacts representing clients, alliance partners, third-party organizations, vendors, and others.
Broad knowledge of key issues and trends in and affecting the technology industry.
Broad overall business acumen and knowledge of Accenture's areas of business.
Strong project management, budget management and financial reporting skills.
Ability to manage multiple projects under tight deadlines
Passion for executing deliverables and programs that are of the highest quality, fully support Accenture's business strategy and are in line with or exceed leadership expectations.
Strong negotiation and conflict-management skills to resolve complex or disputed issues.
Ability to influence the highest levels of leadership within Accenture's large, matrixed organization through relationship-building and strong executive-level presence.
Strong teaming skills-ability to work autonomously and independently, yet integrate appropriately with Marketing & Communications colleagues across other business areas, operating groups, geographies, capabilities groups, Corporate Communications.
Compensation at Accenture varies depending on a wide array of factors, which may include but are not limited to the specific office location, role, skill set, and level of experience.
