Material Specialist - Warehouse - Greenfield Indiana
Standard schedule is Monday through Friday 6:00am - 2:30pm. Overtime during the week is typically 6:00am - 3:30pm and Saturdays when needed. Schedules are subject to change based on business need.

Material Specialist - Warehouse
Material Specialist
The Material Specialist is responsible for the efficient and accurate handling and movement of materials to support production operations and inventory control. This role involves receiving, storing, staging, issuing, and moving materials while maintaining inventory accuracy and adhering to safety and quality standards. The Material Specialist operates material handling equipment such as forklifts and pallet jacks, utilizes ERP/MRP systems for data entry and inventory management, and collaborates with team members and other departments to ensure smooth material flow.
What You Will Do:
Receive, stage, issue, and deliver materials within the facility to support production schedules and customer orders.
Safely operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and other material handling equipment, ensuring equipment is in good working order.
Load and unload materials from trucks and containers, inspecting incoming goods for damage or discrepancies.
Accurately enter inventory transactions into ERP/MRP systems or scanning devices, and run/analyze inventory and KPI reports.
Perform cycle counts, assist with physical inventories, and reconcile discrepancies, reporting issues to supervisors.
Maintain accurate inventory and material movement documentation, supporting quality assurance and root cause analysis.
Participate in continuous improvement initiatives and lean manufacturing principles.
Provide informal guidance or mentoring to less experienced team members, including demonstrating proper material processes and techniques.
Maintain clean, organized, and safe work areas and properly store tools and equipment.
Collaborate and communicate effectively with team members, supervisors, engineers, and quality control personnel to resolve issues and improve processes.
Demonstrate flexibility by working overtime when needed, cross-training in other areas, and adapting to new processes or technologies.
Other duties as assigned.
What You Need to Succeed:
Education: High School Diploma or GED
1+ year of material handling and inventory experience required.
Forklift operations experience preferred.
Familiarity with material handling and material movement.
Basic computer literacy, including data entry, basic knowledge of ERP systems, and ability to use barcode scanners.
Ability to use proper lifting techniques and material movement equipment effectively.
Ability to be flexible in role, adjusting to new processes, technologies, or production requirements.
Physical Demands:
Ability to handle material and parts.
Perform repetitive motions (bending, twisting, kneeling, stooping, lifting, gripping, and grasping with hands).
Standing Duration: Ability to stand for up to 10 hours per shift.
Lifting Requirements: Ability to lift up to 75lbs.
Perform repetitive motions (bending, twisting, kneeling, stooping, lifting, gripping, and grasping with hands).
Ability to work in environments with noise, chemicals, dust, sharp objects, moving/rotating mechanical parts, and temperature extremes.
