DESCRIPTION OF WORK As a Registered Nurse Supervisor, you will play a crucial role in overseeing and guiding the delivery of professional nursing services and ensuring the safety and well-being of patients and staff at Wernersville State Hospital. Your responsibilities will include collaborating with various health care professionals and administrative staff to provide comprehensive care and support for patients. It is essential that you have excellent organizational skills and attention to detail to maintain accurate records and reports. Additionally, you will be responsible for providing orientation and training to professional and non-professional nursing staff, ensuring that they are equipped with the necessary skills and knowledge to provide quality care to patients. Your role will be vital in creating a safe and therapeutic environment for all individuals being treated at the hospital.

Work Schedule and Additional Information: Full-time employment, 40 hours per week Work hours are 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM during training and after training, with a 30-minute lunch. You will work every 4th weekend and have rotating days off during the week. This may change based on operational needs. Overtime as operationally necessary

QUALIFICATIONS Minimum Experience and Training Requirements: Three years as a Registered Nurse (Commonwealth job title or equivalent Federal Government job title, as determined by the Office of Administration); or Four years of professional nursing experience providing care and treatment services consistent with those needed for individuals with a mental or physical injury or illness and/or a developmental disability.

Special Requirements: This position requires active authorization to practice as a Registered Nurse in Pennsylvania. If you possess an active temporary practice permit, you must obtain licensure as a Registered Nurse within the one (1) year period defined by the Pennsylvania State Board of Nursing.

Other Requirements: PA residency requirement is currently waived for this title. You must be able to perform essential job functions.

Legal Requirements: A conditional offer of employment will requirea medical examination. This position falls under the provisions of the Older Adult Protective Services Act. Under the Act, a conditional offer of employment will require submission and approval of satisfactory criminal history reports, including but not limited to, PA State Police and FBI clearance.
