ASRC Federal AFSS is seeking a Senior Accountant to support a NASA contract in Greenbelt, MD.

Responsibilities:

Provide Accounting support to the Funds Control Office at NASA Goddard Space Flight Center.

Serve as a technical expert, providing guidance related to reimbursable, accounts receivable, funds distribution, and accounting procedures.

Ensures full and proper utilization of accounting functions, financial management, analysis and reconciliations, accounting control, and document reviews for reimbursable agreements.

Ensures that reimbursable agreements are complete, reliable, and reconciled for close-out.

Reconciles data to the general ledger and prepares financial reports supporting 3 Centers.

Leads complex financial reconciliations, interprets advanced regulatory guidance, and provides high-level recommendations to management.

Serves as a liaison with internal and external resource management teams, ensuring compliance with federal and agency-specific financial regulations.

Additional duties as assigned.

Requirements:

Ability to report on-site at NASA Goddard Space Flight Center full time

Customer service oriented.

Ability to use and understand SAP and Business Objects.

Have full understanding of the reimbursable, accounts receivable, funds distribution, and accounting processes.

Ability to analyze and reconcile accounts.

Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

Proficiency in Excel, including pivot tables and complex formulas.

Ability to prepare financial analyses, forecasts, and trend reporting.

Prior experience supporting federal financial operations or reimbursable programs strongly preferred.

Demonstrated ability to interpret policy, develop process improvements, and implement internal controls.

Individual must meet government NAC and citizenship/permanent residency requirements for access to AAA. Extensive background investigation will be performed as a requirement of the job.

Education and Experience:

Bachelors degree (including a minimum of 24 accounting credit hours) and 5 years of experience or 10 years of related experience in lieu of a degree.

Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field strongly preferred.

Additional professional certification (CGFM, CPA, or CDFM) is highly desired.

Experience leading financial projects preferred.
