Description

We are looking for an experienced Staff Accountant to join our team on a contract basis. This position is based in Toledo, Ohio, and offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to a non-profit organization during a critical period. The role requires strong accounting expertise and adaptability, as well as the ability to work collaboratively with a diverse team.

Responsibilities:

Perform month-end and year-end closing processes, including preparing accrual entries and reconciling accounts.

Assist in bank reconciliations and ensure accurate entries into the general ledger.

Provide documentation and support during audits, acting as a liaison between auditors and the organization.

Generate financial reports, manipulate data in Excel using formulas, pivot tables, and VLOOKUPs.

Manage journal entries and maintain accuracy within the general ledger.

Work with specialized accounting software, to navigate modules and input essential data.

Collaborate with team members to address financial queries and ensure smooth operations.

Uphold attention to detail and accuracy in all accounting tasks.

Adapt to changing priorities and assist with various accounting duties as needed.

Requirements

Proficiency in managing journal entries and general ledger accounting.

Strong skills in Excel, including pivot tables, VLOOKUPs, and basic formulas.

Familiarity with accounting software

Ability to work effectively under tight deadlines and manage multiple responsibilities.

Exceptional attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.

Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate with diverse teams.

Patience and adaptability in working with different personalities and team dynamics.
