We have an exciting opportunity for an Electrical Engineering (EE) Supervisor to join our Electrical Technologies Electrical Design and Prototyping team located in Rancho Bernardo. We are seeking a driven and talented individual with experience working alongside technician teams and maintain engineering labs and cleanrooms in a fast-paced research and development environment. The successful candidate will report to the Electrical Design and Prototyping Supervisor and, alongside high-caliber engineering management staff, will be engaged in engineering support of assembly, integration and test for high-power electromagnetic systems, directed energy systems, advanced airborne sensors, space systems and satellites, and a variety of other technologies in the expanding product portfolio of GA-EMS.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Lead and develop a team of 5-10 engineering technicians driving continuous improvement in their skills and career progression.
Coordinate the maintenance and enhancement of Class > 1000 clean rooms used for the development of various laser and electronic systems. Lead infrastructure improvement projects for clean rooms and electrical engineering laboratories.
Lead activities for engineering project(s) including planning, resource allocation and managing technical performance to ensure quality, business, and financial objectives are attained.
Implement current, annual, and long-term technical, schedule, quality, business, and financial objectives for the engineering unit and may also participate in the development of Group/Company objectives.
Interact internally with the engineering team and/or with suppliers, vendors or customers to share information and for basic problem resolution. May act as primary contact for engineering activities.
May participate in the preparation of proposals, business plans, proposal work statements and specifications, operating budgets, and financial terms/conditions of contract(s).
Ensure technical leadership and excellence is maintained by participating in the planning, attraction, selection, retention, and development of the required management, professional, and technical talent.
Identify engineering issues and provide leadership in developing solutions such as re-allocation of resources or task deconfliction for technicians between programs
May participate in the development of new business opportunities and expansion of existing business opportunities.
Responsible for ensuring all laws, regulations, and other applicable obligations are observed wherever and whenever business is conducted on behalf of the Company.
Responsible for ensuring work is accomplished in a safe manner in accordance with established operating procedures and practices.

Job Qualifications:
Typically requires a Bachelors, Masters or PhD in engineering or a related technical field as well as six or more years of progressively complex engineering experience. May substitute equivalent experience in lieu of education.
Must demonstrate a basic understanding in the application of engineering principles, concepts, theory, and practice as well as project management and leadership skills including organizing, planning, scheduling, and coordinating workloads to meet established deadlines or milestones.
Experience maintaining Class > 1000 clean rooms is highly desirable.
Strong knowledge of manufacturing processes such as assembly, integration, and testing
Proficiency in interpreting schematics, engineering drawings, and specs.
Must possess the ability to effectively resolve management and technical challenges.
Extensive hands-on experience with hardware assembly and testing is required.
Experience leading a team is desirable, including delegating tasks, providing constructive feedback, mentoring, and resolving task conflicts.
Strong communication, leadership, presentation, and interpersonal skills are essential to effectively interface with other departments, all levels of management, professional and support staff, customers, prospective customers, and government representatives.
Must be customer-focused, able to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment, and capable of contributing effectively to complex, multidisciplinary projects. Occasional travel may be required.
The ability to obtain and maintain a DOD Security Clearance is required.
