Executive Director & Marketing Manager Missouri River Country (MRC) Wage: $20/hour | Full-time Location: Remote eligible (must reside within the Missouri River Country region) Position Open Until Filled

About Missouri River Country

Missouri River Country (MRC) is the regional tourism organization serving eight counties in Northeast Montana. Funded by Montana's lodging (bed) tax and governed by a Board of Directors appointed by county commissioners, MRC promotes the region's communities, attractions, and outdoor experiences.

Position Summary

The Executive Director & Marketing Manager serves as the primary administrative, financial, and marketing professional for Missouri River Country. This position manages daily operations, supports the Board of Directors, ensures compliance and reporting, and leads destination marketing efforts in partnership with communities and Destination Montana.

Key Responsibilities

Manage day-to-day operations and serve as the primary contact for visitors, partners, and agencies

Support the Board of Directors and committees; attend required meetings Maintain board membership records and manage accounts payable Perform bookkeeping, budget tracking, and monthly financial reporting Prepare and submit required state and federal compliance reports Apply for grant funding when applicable and assist with grant reporting Develop, implement, and track the Annual Marketing Plan Coordinate advertising, public relations, publications, and agency-of-record activities Plan and attend trade shows, FAM/press trips, and community outreach Manage social media (Facebook and Instagram), posting at least two times per week Maintain photo library, assist with website updates, and collect regional event information

Qualifications

Strong organizational and communication skills

Experience in tourism, marketing, nonprofit, or public-sector administration preferred Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, QuickBooks, internet platforms, and social media Ability to work independently and collaboratively with a board and stakeholders Willingness to travel within the region as needed
