Under the supervision of a Headquarters Major, the video redaction specialist is primarily responsible for reviewing, editing, and redacting digital video and audio evidence generated from fleet cameras, body-worn cameras (BWC), and other video, audio, and photographic sources to ensure compliance with federal, state, and local laws, as well as agency policies and public safety best practices. This position supports the release of records in response to public records requests, subpoenas, court proceedings, and internal investigations while maintaining the confidentiality and privacy of individuals depicted. This position will support the data practices team, assisting with response and management of data and expungement requests.

Minimum Qualifications
Two (2) years' experience ensuring documents meet legal and/or policy requirements (such as legal documents, legislation and other technical documents).
Experience must demonstrate the following:
Creating and/or analyzing legal documents to make recommendations to the legal team and/or leadership.
Read and comprehend program-related materials, manuals, statutes, rules, etc.
Computer proficiency including word processing and keyboarding and the ability to navigate multiple applications/databases simultaneously.
Database management and data entry skills; the ability to enter information with extreme attention to detail.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills and the ability to convey complicated and procedural information clearly and concisely.
Problem solving, time management, and prioritization skills.
Ability to work cooperatively with individuals from underserved and diverse backgrounds.
Preferred Qualifications
Completion of a legal secretary, legal administrative assistant, or related post-secondary training program or certification; or similar work experience
Experience entering data into MNJIS and/or similar law enforcement databases
Experience with Data Practices
Experience with Digital Evidence, body-worn camera and fleet video platforms
Knowledge of law enforcement operations and programs.
Experience with software applications such as advanced Microsoft Office suite products
Physical Requirements
Medium: Requires occasionally moving and transporting 50-pound items and frequently moving and transporting objects such as heavy tools and heavy file boxes. This job may require positioning self to move to a significant degree across rough terrain or may involve maintaining a stationary position for extended periods
