DESCRIPTION OF WORK

As a Staff Physician 2, your primary responsibility will be to deliver medical care to the patients of Wernersville State Hospital. Your work will involve treating physically ill patients and performing various medical tasks, including conducting physical and neurological examinations, formulating medical diagnoses, and identifying medical treatment requirements. You will be responsible for ensuring the psychiatrist and treatment team are updated on patients with medical conditions and their ongoing treatments. Additionally, you will attend medical staff and hospital committee meetings and participate in committee work as assigned.

Work Schedule and Additional Information: Full-time employment Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch. Overtime is required as needed. Free parking! Check your email, including spam/junk folders, for these notices. REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS Minimum Experience and Training Requirements: Three years of experience and/or training in the practice of medicine.

Special Requirements: You must be in possession of a license to practice medicine in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania as issued by the State Medicine Board, or the State Osteopathic Medicine Board.

Other Requirements: PA residency requirement is currently waived for this title. You must be able to perform essential job functions.

Legal Requirements: You must pass a background investigation. A conditional offer of employment will require a medical examination and drug screening. This position falls under the provisions of the Older Adult Protective Services Act. Under the Act, a conditional offer of employment will require submission and approval of satisfactory criminal history reports, including but not limited to, PA State Police and FBI clearance.
