The Montana Department of Public Health and Human Services (DPHHS) has a career opportunity within the Human and Community Services Division. The Human and Community Services Division (HCSD) offers assistance to low-income or struggling families and members of the community necessary to help them meet basic needs and work their way out of poverty. The Quality Assurance Specialist position reviews public assistance cases for programs such as the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP), Temporary Assistance Needy Families (TANF), and Healthcare Coverage and identifies eligibility errors or violations; makes necessary adjustments or referrals; and determines training, policy revision or system modifications necessary to improve quality. This position also processes administrative hearing requests to resolve or defend eligibility determinations as appropriate. Qualifications for this Career Opportunity Knowledge of state and federal rules and regulations regarding SNAP, TANF, and Healthcare Coverage programs. Knowledge of public assistance eligibility and/or compliance determination rules and procedures. General knowledge of Administrative Review and Administrative Hearing Process. Knowledge of effective customer service methods and techniques. Ability to communicate effectively and tactfully, explaining regulations and program benefits in a clear and concise manner. Attention to details, time management, and multitasking skills. Meet minimum qualifications: o Bachelor's degree in human services, business or related field. o Two years of experience with eligibility policies and procedures including experience with SNAP, TANF, and health coverage. o Other combinations of related education / experience may be considered.
