Work Arrangement: Hybrid Why Join Crowley: As a Buyer on our team, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring our operations run smoothly by securing the right materials, from the right suppliers, at the right time. Your strategic sourcing, supplier negotiation, and data-driven decision-making will directly influence cost savings, supply chain stability, and our ability to meet customer commitments with confidence. Whether working hybrid in the U.S. or remotely in El Salvador, you'll strengthen our vendor relationships, optimize purchasing processes, and bring a level of insight and ownership that drives measurable impact across the organization. What You'll Do: Responsible for participating in the purchasing, negotiations and research of suppliers to ensure source selection meet the program requirements. Key Responsibilities: · Develop sources of supply which support specific categories by contacting suppliers, securing bids, and selecting/negotiating pricing with approved vendors. · Research suppliers to determine process, timing, reliability and level of quality. · Identify and expedite purchase orders in response to material requirements typically established by internal customers and operational requirements. · Analyze supplier data and price proposals to confirm acceptable pricing and reliability of supplies. · Determine and develop appropriate sources of supply and maintain cooperative working relationships with vendors to stay current with trends and technologies, products and services. · Negotiate contracts for product fulfillment processing. · Maintain data information, files, reports and records in accordance with established guidelines, policies and procedures. Education & Credentials: Bachelor's degree in business, accounting, finance or a related field; or a combination of post high school and equal experience may be substituted for education. Experience: 3 - 5 years' purchasing or materials experience in addition to a strong background in customer interface roles and a basic understanding of price analysis methodologies. Technical Skills: Proficient in Microsoft Office products, including Excel, Outlook and Word. Familiarity with ERP systems. Competencies:Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships, both internal and external of the organization. Ability to prioritize, organize and perform multiple work assignments simultaneously. Ability to perform accurately in a detail-oriented environment. Ability to demonstrate effective customer service skills. Ability to identify complex problems and review related information to develop, evaluate and implement solutions. Ability to present strategic sourcing solutions for materials and/or services in collaboration with the procurement team and business stakeholders. Ability to document existing and new processes. Knowledge of and ability to demonstrate effectiveness with contract negotiation, development and administration. Knowledge of and ability to apply the concepts, principles and practices of change management, category management. Knowledge of category sourcing and procurement trends and best practices, as well as the ability to make purchasing decisions based on independent research and judgment. OTHER: Must be willing and able to travel. Fully bilingual (Spanish/English) preferred. WORKING CONDITIONS:Normal office environment with little exposure to excessive noise, dust, temperature and the like. Extended use of a computer keyboard, viewing of a computer monitor and the ability to sit for long periods of time. What We Offer?
