DESCRIPTION OF WORK
As Security Officer 1, you will be responsible for the safety and security of patients, employees, students, and visitors, as well as hospital and private property. You will conduct routine foot and vehicle patrols of tunnels, basements, buildings, and ground level areas; identify unauthorized individuals, traffic issues, fire hazards, and potential risks; respond to complaints from patients, visitors, and employees; and provide support on wards when necessary. A key responsibility will include upholding traffic and parking regulations to ensure organized parking, maintain smooth traffic flow, and monitor staff vehicle registrations. In addition to reporting unauthorized vehicles, you will assist with locating missing patients and facilitate their safe return, offer polite escort services, and provide directions.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:
Full-time employment
Work hours are 12:00 AM (midnight) to 8:00 AM, with varied days off and two 15-minute breaks. You will work every other weekend.
May change based on operational needs.
Overtime: As needed
Telework: You will not have the option to telework in this position.
Salary: Selected candidates who are new to employment with the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania will begin employment at the starting annual salary of $38,515.00 (before taxes).

Special Requirement:
This position requires possession of a valid Pennsylvania Motor Vehicle operator's license.

This position falls under the provisions of the Older Adult Protective Services Act.
