Account Clerk-Typist
The Ogdensburg Housing Authority is accepting applications for an Account Clerk-Typist. The duties will include
but are not limited to maintaining daily cash receipts, deposit and journal entries, entering and coding invoices
for payment, receiving tenant payments, monitoring and addressing delinquencies, performing various data
entry tasks, contacting clients or vendors to obtain information as necessary, filing and maintaining records. The
position requires competent use of a personal computer, Microsoft Excel and web-based tenant, property and
financial management software program.
Applicants must possess a high school diploma, equivalency diploma or Individual Education Plan diploma and
one year of clerical experience which shall have included billing, payroll or bookkeeping/accounting or that
included or was supplemented by coursework in accounting or bookkeeping.
The successful candidate will be knowledgeable in office terminology, procedures and equipment, pay close
attention to detail, maintain organized and accurate records, work well as part of a team, deal appropriately
with the public, accurately handle cash and other forms of currency and have good phone etiquette.
The position provides an excellent benefit package, including paid time off, health insurance, dental, vision
and NYS Retirement. The hours are 8:00 am-4:00 pm, Monday thru Friday with an hour for lunch. The
starting rate is $41,057 per year.
This position is currently approved under NYS HELPS which means that it can be offered as a permanent
placement without examination following the probationary period.
