Intrepid is a specialty investment bank and provides M&A, capital raising and strategic advisory services to entrepreneurs, family-owned companies, private equity sponsors and major corporations, through dedicated banking teams with deep industry sector experience and over three decades of experience. The firm is based in Los Angeles, with additional offices in San Francisco, New York, Chicago, and Charlotte. Intrepid is the middle-market advisory arm of Mitsubishi UFJ Financial Group (NYSE: MUFG), one of the largest financial groups in the world.

Intrepid is seeking an energetic, creative, and execution-focused Head of Marketing to lead all marketing and communications efforts. This role is ideal for a "doer" who thrives on managing multiple projects, collaborating with diverse stakeholders, and driving results across events, content, digital, social, design, and advertising. The position reports directly to the CEO and is a key member of the senior leadership team, requiring executive presence and the ability to influence at the highest levels. We are open to candidates in our Los Angeles or New York offices.
Responsibilities
Practice Group Partnership
Collaborate with ~15 banking practice group heads (Capital Advisory, Special Situations, M&A industry groups, etc.) to develop and execute customized annual marketing strategies and business development plans.
Provide guidance, best practices, and hands-on support to practice leaders with varying marketing needs.
Marketing Execution
Lead and execute campaigns across events, content marketing, social media, digital/performance marketing, design, and advertising.
Oversee paid social campaigns and targeted advertising in regional and trade outlets.
Manage creation and distribution of marketing collateral; coordinate with external vendors and agencies.
Manage all the planning and execution of various firm and practice group events and conferences, working closely with the event champions to implement their vision. The marketing team is responsible for event logistics, collateral production, promotion and on-site management.
Brand Development
Drive brand awareness for Intrepid and MUFG in new markets.
Position Intrepid for growth nationally, leveraging digital, social, and traditional channels.
Champion Intrepid's values and support community outreach.
Team Leadership
Manage three direct reports: Sr. Marketing Strategist, Marketing Strategist, Sr. Graphic Designer.
Foster a collaborative, accountable, and innovative team culture.
PR & Communications
Oversee PR and communications, including deal announcements, media outreach, and securing speaking engagements for bankers.
Work to get Intrepid and its bankers featured in articles and on industry stages.
CRM & Engagement Analytics
Oversee CRM and customer engagement tools.
Analyze engagement data, optimize campaigns, and drive continuous improvement in marketing effectiveness.
Budget & Operations
Oversee the corporate marketing budget and work with practice/industry teams to form individual annual budgets.
Ensure compliance with FINRA/SEC regulations; oversee expense tracking and reporting.
Qualifications
Executive presence & credibility: They must confidently engage with senior leadership, including the CEO, and be seen as an authority on all things marketing, brand, and communications. This includes: calm, polished communication, the ability to challenge ideas respectfully, clear, persuasive framing of recommendation.
High ownership mentality: Take initiatives without being prompted, proactively solve problems, operate and thrive in a fast-paced entrepreneurial environment.
Comfortable wearing many hats; adept at both strategy and execution.
10+ years' experience in financial services marketing.
Strong project management, communication, and stakeholder engagement skills.
Proven ability to work with diverse stakeholders and adapt to their needs.
Familiarity with DealCloud (or similar CRM tools, like Salesforce, HubSpot) and customer engagement analytics; able to analyze, optimize, and improve team performance.
Bachelor's degree required, advanced degree or certifications a plus.
The typical base pay for this role is $200,000 - $250,000 depending on job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and location. This role may also be eligible for certain discretionary performance-based bonus and/or incentive compensation.
