Duties and Responsibilities
What You'll Do
Oversees the electrical, instrumentation, and controls teams
Monitor and support CIP construction projects, ensuring work meets county standards and project specifications.
Work closely with project managers, Water Operations, and Wastewater Operations to maintain a 5-year budget plan for operations, repairs, replacements, and major maintenance.
Lead supervisors and staff in daily activities, including troubleshooting, repairing, and installing mechanical components at all facilities.
Oversee the preventative maintenance program to keep systems reliable and efficient.
Complete and review annual employee evaluations.
Organize equipment needs and purchase tools or materials required for safe, effective work.
Ensure staff follow all safety policies and have the proper equipment for every task.
Communicate regularly with managers, electrical supervisors, and electrical staff to keep teams aligned.
Coordinate with contractors to ensure repairs are completed correctly and systems remain operational.
Respond to emergencies such as storms, power outages, and other events that impact water and wastewater treatment.
Education, Experience, Licensing
Minimum Requirements
A combination of education and experience equivalent to a bachelor's degree in business administration, engineering, physical or environmental science, or a related field.
Two years of experience in public utilities or a closely related field.
Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record.
Preferred Qualifications
Master's degree in engineering, physical science, environmental science, or a similar field.
Five years of experience working in public utilities, electric utilities, power generation, or similar work.
Three to five years of experience supervising a team.
Experience using the National Electric Code (NEC) and NFPA safety standards.
Strong knowledge of local building, fire, and electrical codes used in Lee County.
Able to use AutoCAD and SCADA systems.
Electrical Contractor (Master's) license.
Experience with MEP work (Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing), including electrical or industrial construction projects.
Certified Control Systems Technician (CCST).
Supplemental Information
Work Schedule: The workdays and hours are Monday-Friday, 7:00 AM - 3:30 PM, with availability after hours, on weekends, or on holidays as needed.

Retirees of the Investment Plan are eligible for renewed membership in the Investment Plan only. FRS reemployment rules apply for both.
