Job Title: Electrical & Instrumentation Technician

Location: Savannah, GA

Hours/Schedule: Monday-Friday, 7:00 am to 3:30 pm

Type: Contract

Overview

This role provides advanced electrical and instrumentation troubleshooting, maintenance, and technical support for a manufacturing facility. The technician is responsible for ensuring reliable operation of process instrumentation, control systems, and electrical equipment while maintaining safety and compliance standards. On-call availability is required.

Responsibilities

Perform advanced troubleshooting and repair of electrical and instrumentation systems

Follow all safety, environmental, and SOP requirements, including lockout/tagout and arc flash procedures

Diagnose equipment malfunctions using gauges, diagnostic tools, and testing instruments

Repair, reassemble, calibrate, and maintain process instrumentation and electrical components

Maintain accurate calibration records and update the CMMS database

Calibrate and maintain process instrumentation, VFDs, motor controls, and electrical systems

Perform preventive maintenance and investigate equipment failures to identify root causes

Assist with planning and execution of equipment shutdowns

Troubleshoot and support MCCs, VFDs, PLCs, and related control systems

Install and maintain instruments, control panels, and electrical hardware

Support HMI systems and industrial Ethernet networks

Participate in on-call rotation to support facility operations

Qualifications

Required

Associate's degree or technical certification in electronics or a related field

Minimum of 3 years of experience in electromechanical, instrumentation, and electrical roles

Hands-on experience troubleshooting electrical and instrumentation systems

Strong technical aptitude with industrial equipment and components

Ability to read and interpret P&IDs and electrical schematics

Preferred

Experience with Allen Bradley PLCs

Familiarity with Wonderware software

Experience troubleshooting and calibrating control valves

Knowledge of VFD structure and operation
