The Market Intelligence Consultant - Sequent will guide our market intelligence and forecasts with a detailed understanding of our business and multiple market factors that influence commodity pricing. This role will develop and lead extensive short, medium, and long term supply and demand fundamental forecasts for key markets. This role will also use aggregated information to develop our commodity pricing point-of-view (POV), fundamental supply and demand proprietary view (PV), and present outlooks. The Consultant will be a liaison with upper management on market intelligence, creation of our PV and POV, and other critical ad hoc analysis. Partnering with commercial and FP&A teams to provide critical and timely long range plan analysis and forming views that impact existing business and strategic business opportunities are keys to success.

Responsibilities/Expectations:
Informs business decisions for natural gas traders with market intelligence and research with a focus on supply and demand analysis, pricing forecasts, competitive intelligence, enterprise strategy and risk analyses
Utilizes expertise with third-party market data to compile research and analysis to support regional natural gas trading strategy development
Develops and updates supply/demand and price/basis reports to support daily/forward natural gas trading strategies
Identifies natural gas market trends or risks before widespread knowledge or acceptance from consultants or competitors
Supports gas trading Asset Management team with near-term and long-term market fundamental assessments for pipeline and storage capacity decisions
Proactively screens market news such as customer and competitor announcements and earnings calls to provide quick summaries and headlines to natural gas traders
Present market fundamental perspective to external stakeholders to support client relationships
Builds strong foundation with natural gas trading team providing on the ground market knowledge and data analysis

Education/Years of Experience:
Required: Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Accounting, Economics, Engineering; a minimum of eight (8) years of related experience
Preferred: Master's degree in Business, Finance, Accounting, Economics, Engineering; a minimum of twelve (12) years of experience
Other Requirements:
Demonstrates outstanding organizational/interpersonal skills and safety as the utmost priority
Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and PC skills
Possesses a detailed understanding of market factors that influence commodity pricing, supply, demand, seasonality, regulations, and international trade
Prior experience in advising and presenting to executives, strong communication skills, adherence to deadlines, and ability to manage a project team
Depth and breadth of understanding of the hydrocarbon industry
Experience and comfort in working with higher-level management
Broad knowledge of our business, customers and competitors
Experience in giving presentations as an expert in a field of business
Project economics or supply/demand modeling experience
Experience in developing a market outlook for natural gas fundamentals and pricing
