Job Summary:
Raytheon's SETC stands for the Systems Engineering and Test Center , a core part of Raytheon (now RTX), focusing on designing, integrating, developing, and testing complex defense systems (hardware/software) for various platforms.
This position is an onsite role
This position can be a Junior, Senior, or Post Graduate Technical Intern based on the candidate's qualifications and standing as outlined below:
(Junior Technical Intern) - must be enrolled in a Bachelor's degree program and classified as a Junior by start of internship
(Senior Technical Intern)- must be enrolled in a Bachelor's degree program and classified as a Senior by start of internship
(Post-Graduate Technical Intern) - must have an undergraduate degree and be enrolled in a graduate degree program (in degree fields listed in Qualifications You Must Have) by start of internship
What You Will Do:
Support hardware engineering team with maintenance, inspection, and documentation
Participate in hands-on troubleshooting and repair activities for mechanical components of hardware systems
Develop and update maintenance procedures and technical documentation for specialized equipment
What You Will Learn:
Exposure to defense industry standards, security requirements, and configuration management process
Real-world application of engineering coursework to solve practical problems
Collaboration skills working within multidisciplinary engineering teams
Qualifications You Must Have:
Current Active TS/SCI with CI poly government clearance
The ability to maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance is required.? U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance
Must be pursuing a BS (or higher) degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM).
This position is for an intern who is enrolled in a Bachelor's (or higher) degree program and will be at minimum, entering their Junior, Senior, or Post Graduate standing level by the start of Summer 2026.
Ability to troubleshoot hardware errors and provide fixes
Qualifications We Prefer:
Coursework or interest in structural mechanics, material science, or mechanical systems design.
Familiarity with technical drawings or software such as CAD, solidworks, or similar tools
Experience with hands-on mechanical assembly, fabrication, or maintenance activities
Strong attention to detail and ability follow technical specifications and safety protocols

The salary range for this role is 37,000 USD - 82,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels.
