The worker will drive trucks to haul fertilizer and crop products from suppliers to storage facilities and farms. Duties include hauling fertilizer stock purchased during November and December to 3,500-ton and 1,600-ton fertilizer facilities for storage and blending. In the spring, the worker will custom blend fertilizer according to individual field needs and deliver or apply it to the fields using fertilizer spreaders. The worker will also transport seed products, including canola, wheat, soybeans, and corn, from suppliers to the facility and then to customers. During harvest, the worker will haul grain from farmers' fields to grain elevators. After harvest, the worker may assist in further fertilizer applications based on crop rotation and upcoming seasonal demands. The worker must adhere to safety protocols, follow scheduling and delivery timelines, and assist with loading/unloading products using facility equipment as needed. This role requires flexibility due to seasonal and weather-driven operational needs. Employment is at-will, but the employer will generally follow an escalatory disciplinary process: (1) a written warning for performance issues or misconduct, followed by (2) a termination notice if issues persist. This does not alter the at-will nature of the employment but ensures transparency and fairness in addressing workplace matters. Employees will be provided with adequate breaks, including meal and rest periods, consistent with applicable Federal, State, and local law, during the course of each workday.
Minimum of 3 months experience is required. Lift and carry items weighing up to 50 pounds. The worker will be exposed to extreme temperatures. Wage rate may increase with verifiable experience. Employer may reward exceptional work with monetary or other benefits in addition to those listed here in his sole discretion. Operator License Class D Candidate will have 60 days to obtain. Skill Level II Experienced Level Pursuant to the Interim Final Rule (IFR) implementing the new four-level wage system for H-2A occupations, the employer designates this position as Skill Level II Experienced Level, indicating that the job requires prior related experience, independent judgment in performing recurring tasks, and the ability to work with limited supervision.
