General Manager (Commercial Construction)

The General Manager is responsible for all operations of the company. This position is responsible for building a consistent book of business through bid preparation & submissions, contract procurement, and the implementation & completion of the overall construction project plan, including delivering the projects within budget. This position is also responsible for all field operations, ensuring projects are effectively managed, quality is maintained, and operations are run safely. This is a high-impact leadership role with full operational responsibility and direct influence on the company's growth and project success.

Essential Duties/ Responsibilities:

Clearly define the schedule of values & all project scope details with the customer, including job location maps, spread rates, and mix designs.

Coordinate project schedule with the customer and field operations.

Coordinate and schedule equipment and employees with field operations.

Create daily project dispatches and ensure the plan is effectively communicated to the entire project management team & site work team.

Communicate with vendors and suppliers in a timely and effective manner.

Collect & verify field reports to ensure the project is completed within budget.

Resolve site challenges with field operations and customers as they arise.

Ensure all change order management procedures are followed & documented.

Perform site visits as needed to monitor progress and ensure field operations are properly informed for success.

Assess quality assurance and material effectiveness; make modifications as necessary to ensure project success.

Close out the project through completion, including collecting the final retention.

Fosters a team environment with the field and addresses any maintenance needs.

Lead/Manage/Accountability (LMA) for all field operations of the company.

Responsible for driving & evaluating field operations.

Responsible for the creation, review, documentation, and implementation of company policy related to field operations to optimize efficiency and control costs.

Identify and drive up-selling opportunities.

Foster an environment of teamwork within the organization.

Perform other related duties as required and assigned.

Basic Qualifications:

Strong leadership skills

Excellent oral and written communication skills

Detailed and accurate

Strong organizational skills

Proven ability to deliver high-quality projects on tight schedules.

Must have strong and practical decision-making skills.

Excellent problem-solving skills

Must be willing to travel and visit job sites (local and national)

Education/Experience:

Bachelor's degree preferred.

Advanced knowledge of the soil reclamation and stabilization industry

10+ years of management experience

Computer knowledge must include MS Office- Word, Excel, and Outlook
