Job Title: Maintenance Technician

Job Description

As a Maintenance Technician, you will be responsible for both mechanical and electrical troubleshooting and repairs. Your role will involve performing preventative and reactive maintenance on machinery, ensuring optimal performance and safety. You will be tasked with repairing gearboxes, conveyors, mixers, chillers, proofers, ovens, and baggers, while working with voltages up to 480V. The position requires rewiring and swapping out motors, assisting machine operators with setting up and changing over machinery, and welding and fabricating. The role is approximately 60% mechanical and 40% electrical, and requires reading and interpreting blueprints and schematics.

Responsibilities

Perform mechanical and electrical troubleshooting and repairs.

Conduct preventative and reactive maintenance on machinery.

Repair gearboxes, conveyors, mixers, chillers, proofers, ovens, and baggers.

Work with voltages up to 480V.

Rewire and swap out motors.

Assist machine operators with machinery setup and changeover.

Execute welding and fabricating tasks.

Read and interpret blueprints and schematics.

Essential Skills

3+ years of maintenance experience.

Proficiency in both mechanical and electrical tasks.

Ability to work with bearings, gearboxes, and blueprints.

Knowledge of pneumatics and hydraulics.

Experience in a GMP environment.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

Experience in the food/GMP environment, bakery preferred.

PLC troubleshooting experience.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of CHICAGO, IL.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $33.00/hr.
