[TABLE]The salary range for this position is estimated to be $102,000.00 - 157,000.00 annualized, which represents the company's good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting. Additionally, Turner Construction provides flexible benefits, including medical, dental, and vision coverage, financial benefits such as a 401(k) plan, Health Savings Account, Flexible Spending Account, wellness benefits, a voluntary legal plan, identity theft, life insurance, short-term and long-term disability coverage.Position Description: Manage overall day-to-day activity of office accounting department and oversight of all office accounting staff.Reports to: Financial Manager, Operational FinanceEssential Duties & Responsibilities:- Create supportive environment to develop high performing finance team, provide training opportunities and engage in mentoring relationships.- Lead accountants and other related team members, provide timely performance feedback and contribute to performance appraisals during annual performance cycle, utilizing talent management systems.- Review quarterly account reconciliations and make recommendations for improvement to Financial Manager.- Review monthly G&A monitor and assist Financial Manager in updating forecast.- Analyze and update estimating recovery monitor and review with Financial Manager and Chief Estimator.- Manage petty cash, payroll and joint venture bank accounts and reconciliations.- Review and approve monthly journal entries.- Assist in resolution of daily office issues including vendor disputes, escalate to Financial Manager as appropriate.- Review all office contracts and lease agreements prior to submission to Financial Manager for approval.- Ensure builders risk log is complete and insurance coverage is in place.- Review and approve orders from external suppliers.- Review charitable contribution requests and ensure compliance with policy.- Other activities, duties, and responsibilities as assigned.Qualifications:- Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or related field, and 5 years of related experience or equivalent combination of education and/or experience- Construction industry experience preferred- Supervisory/management of a small team preferred- Thorough application of accounting principles (i.e. journal entries, general ledger)- Analytic ability to review and assess financial data, interpret trends, and recognize inconsistencies- Understands accounting implications of various contract terms- Demonstrates understanding of cash flows and implements procedures to optimize interest income- Knowledgeable of policies and standards to ensure compliance while identifying financial risks- Displays actions related to profitability and risk management and effectively communicates risk management issues- Exercises independent judgment and discretion with the ability to identify problems and initiate corrective action- Able to apply innovation to offer and implement suggestions to improve overall operations- Ability to manage many activities, requests, and short-cycle deadlines simultaneously- Able to observe performance and effectively provide performance feedback- Proficient with financial system applications, MS Excel, and MS Office- Self-motivated, adaptable and flexible to operate with minimal direction and little or no supervision while working in complex and changing environment.- Professional written and verbal communication skills- High degree of organizational skills with exceptional attention to detail- Some travelPhysical Demands: The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
