The Department of Plant Pathology and Crop Physiology in the College of Agriculture is looking for an Administrative Program Specialist A to join their team. Minimum Qualifications
Three years of experience in administrative services; OR
Six years of full-time work experience in any field; OR
A bachelor's degree.
EXPERIENCE SUBSTITUTION:
Every 30 semester hours earned from an accredited college or university will be credited as one year of experience towards the six years of full-time work experience in any field. The maximum substitution allowed is 120 semester hours which substitutes for a maximum of four years of experience in any field.

Job Duties and Other Information
Job Duties:
As an Administrative Program Specialist A, you'll help create a positive first impression for every person who walks through our doors. In this role, you will:
Perform and coordinates routine administrative activities including records management, requisitions, purchase orders, travel, risk management, inventory, mail, communications. etc. (20%)
Coordinates the human resources function of the department to include but not limited to proper documentation for appointments, funding changes, evaluations, and terminations. Oversees the hiring process of all positions. Oversees leave and payroll functions. Distributes benefit information (20%)
Performs and coordinates the fiscal functions of the department including but not limited to budgeting, purchasing, travel, accounts receivable and payable, petty cash, etc. (30%)
Performs and coordinates administrative aspects of the unit's teaching function to include but not limited to scheduling appointments with students for advising and academic review, monitor academic prerequisites for students enrolled and handle drop/adds, prepares and posts schedules for exams, etc.. (15%)
Learns and uses Enterprise Resource Planning system (Workday) to for financial and human resources processing and data needs. (10%)
Submits facility work orders and coordinates with Facility Services for timely completion of projects. (5%)

Position-Specific Details:
Appointment Type: This position does not participate in a Career Progression Group.
Work Schedule: Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM, Monday - Friday.
Compensation: The salary offered will be determined based on qualifications and experience.
Location: Life Sciences Building, LSU-BR campus
This position is not eligible for remote employment.
