As a store concepts design lead , you will directly contribute to Starbucks success by executing innovation at scale, leading evolution of our standards - including architectural systems, design, communication and training to ensure consistent and scalable solutions across our Coffeehouses.
As a Store Concepts Design Lead, you will...
Lead innovation to scale of Coffeehouse concept design from conceptualization through implementation, ensuring projects are delivered on time and within budget.
Synthesize cross-functional knowledge across the Starbucks enterprise to create relevant, scalable design solutions and standards; collaborate with cross-functional teams to execute these solutions at scale.
Continuously audit and refine Coffeehouse architectural standards on a defined cadence to ensure they remain relevant, efficient, and effective.
Communicate standards by leading presentations, trainings, and share-outs with internal design and construction teams.
Serve as a subject matter expert on Starbucks-specific requirements and architectural code compliance, ensuring holistic integration of innovation and design.
Provide governance and lifecycle management o f design standards by understanding key stakeholders, cross-functional programs, and business priorities to create concept solutions that enhance partner and customer experiences.
Work through ambiguity and address both current and future business needs to deliver workstreams that support Concepts goals and priorities.
Prioritize and plan projects in alignment with Concepts processes to deliver maximum value for the brand and the business.
Contribute to an energetic, collaborative team environment and help drive the business forward while acting in alignment with Starbucks guiding principles.
We'd love to hear from people with:
8+ Years in design and architecture
Experience leading architectural standards strategy and development
Experience working with cross functional stakeholders in a dynamic setting
Proficient using Revit and/or SketchUp for 3D modeling and architectural drawings
Skilled in visual, written and verbal communication of design intent and training material.
Demonstrated experience with retail, hospitality or restaurant design including management of construction documents. Current knowledge of retail, hospitality or restaurant industry trends, including furniture and finishes (7+ years)
Experience as a project or small team leader, including demonstrating ability to make decisions and manage multiple projects or priorities (7+ years)
Bachelor's degree in design or related design field from an accredited educational institution (Master's a plus)

*If you are working in CA, CO, IL, LA, ME, MA, NE, ND or RI, you will accrue vacation up to a maximum of 120 hours (190 in CA) for roles below director and 200 hours (316 in CA) for roles at director or above. For roles in other states, you will be granted vacation time starting at 120 hours annually for roles below director and 200 hours annually for roles director and above.
The actual base pay offered to the successful candidate will be based on multiple factors, including but not limited to job-related knowledge/skills, experience, geographical location, and internal equity. At Starbucks, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at the high end of the range for their role, and compensation decisions are dependent upon the facts and circumstances of each position and candidate.
