As a Security Officer - Retail Foot Patrol in San Jose, CA , you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Retail/Malls, and more. As a Patrol Unarmed Officer with Allied Universal at a retail and mall location, you will conduct routine patrols throughout the premises, helping to deter security-related incidents while maintaining a visible presence. You will interact with visitors and tenants, providing outstanding customer service and clear communication. This is a driving position, offering an engaging environment where your reliability, agility, and teamwork help create a welcoming atmosphere for everyone on site.

What You'll Do:

Provide customer service to clients, guests, and/or tenants by carrying out security-related procedures and site-specific policies, including emergency response activities when appropriate.

Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, maintaining professionalism at all times.

Conduct regular and random patrols throughout the retail or mall location and its perimeter to help to deter unauthorized activity and identify potential issues.

Observe and report any suspicious behavior, hazards, or maintenance needs within the location to the appropriate personnel.

Assist with access control by monitoring entrances and exits, verifying credentials, and addressing unauthorized entry as needed.

Support loss prevention efforts by maintaining a visible presence and interacting with visitors and staff.

Collaborate with Allied Universal team members and local law enforcement as required during incidents or emergencies.

Minimum Requirements:

A valid driver's license is required in accordance with Allied Universal driver policy requirements.

Customer service experience is preferred.

Ability to lift up to 20 pounds is preferred.

A guard card or license is preferred.

Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.

Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
