This position is responsible for assisting the Finance Director in overseeing all county financial functions, including those related to the Board of Supervisors, Public Service Authority (PSA), Economic Development Authority (EDA), Sports Tourism and Entertainment Authority (STEA), and the Department of Social Services (DSS), hereafter referred to as "the County." This individual will work with the Treasurer, Commissioner of Revenue, School Board, staff, and various state and federal agencies to manage the financial aspects of County operations. The position will provide extensive support regarding the budgeting and financial operations of the PSA. This role supervises the PSA Collections Specialist and PSA Billing Office Supervisor, and reports to the Finance Director. Work hours are Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m. until 5:00 p.m. Some overtime, holiday, and evening work may be required, as well as overnight travel. The salary scale for this position is $73,632 - $123,170 and is commensurate upon education and experience. Educational Requirements: Applicants must possess a minimum of four (4) years of extensive, progressively responsible experience in a municipal financial administrative position. A Bachelors Degree in Accounting or Finance is required. The qualified individual must be knowledgeable about the laws and policies governing municipal finance, budgeting, accounting techniques, GAAP and GASB methods and procedures, municipal bonds, contracts, and investment opportunities.
